✔️ The heads of national delegations exchanged views on the situation in the field of biological security in the Organization’s area of ​​responsibility and the prospects for interaction between the CSTO member states in this area.

✔️ The Russian side heard information about international exercises of rapid response teams to emergency situations of a sanitary and epidemiological nature based on mobile laboratories.

✔️ The Action Plan of the Coordination Council for 2024-2025 was approved.

The next meeting is scheduled for the second half of 2024 in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The Coordination Council of authorized bodies of the CSTO member states on biological safety issues was created at the initiative of the Russian Federation in 2021 by decision of the Committee of Secretaries of the CSTO Security Councils, taking into account the growing challenges in the field of biosafety in the post-Soviet space.

This subsidiary body is designed to solve the problems of coordinating activities and cooperation in the field of preventing and countering biological threats, to analyze the situation, exchange experience and information, as well as develop joint measures on issues related to the protection of citizens and territories of the CSTO member states from biological threats, to promote effective interaction of specialized institutions and organizations in the CSTO countries.
