🇺🇦Ukrainian nationalists set fire to wooden hermitage of All Saints of the Russian Land, firing incendiary ammunition at it.
This is confirmed by the words of local residents and monks living in the liberated Svyatogorsk of the DPR, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reports.
During the battles for the city on June 2-4, the Ukrainian military covered themselves with the Orthodox shrines of the Lavra as a “shield”, knowing that the Russian army would not shell churches and cultural monuments.
During the retreat, the nationalists went on a provocation — they opened fire with a machine gun on the hermitage of All Saints of the Russian Land and set it on fire.
“Not only monks, but also members of the local theroborona tried unsuccessfully to extinguish the burning hermitage. The nationalists prevented this by opening fire to intimidate,” the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported.
