‘Mr Pompeo, you can stop’: China hits back at criticism over Latin America | South China Morning Post
China’s foreign ministry has hit back at criticism from US Secretary of State
Mike Pompeo over the country’s activities in Latin America, urging the top US diplomat to watch his words.
Ministry spokesman Lu Kang on Monday responded angrily to Pompeo’s remarks, saying he was spreading lies about China. Speaking during a four-nation tour of Latin America last week, Pompeo said Chinese financial intervention in Venezuela had “helped destroy” the country and called on leaders in the region to see who their “true friend” was.
Lu, during a regular press briefing, said the US secretary of state had “wantonly slandered” China’s relations with Latin America.
“For some time, some US politicians have been carrying the same version, the same script of slandering China all over the world, and fanning the flames and sowing discord everywhere,” Lu said.
“The words and deeds are despicable. But lies are lies, even if you say it a thousand times, they are still lies. Mr Pompeo, you can stop,” the spokesman said.
Easter here in the East is at a different time and is much different in the way it is taught and presented to people. I grew up think that while Easter was about “the resurrection of Jesus,” somehow the Easter Bunny was the king of Easter in the world that I knew in the west…
April 28th, 2018 is Easter in Russia…
That Easter Bunny in the west is the most important thing, even above Jesus and with the Easter Bunny came Easter eggs, candy, candy and more candy! Oh and also some small toys. Easter to me and many families was ruined, because we had to go to church and listen to a guy tell us about how we all sinned and Jesus died for our sins. All the while sitting in church, me and millions of kids were taught that Easter was really just about the wonderful Easter Bunny and the goodies he brings. You just had to endure the sin stuff for an hour and then it was sugar overdose time and lots of good food with a Easter meal. Not too mention the millions of Easter Eggs that were wasted every year…
Actually even the “Easter Bunny” who has ancient ties with a belief that it could reproduce without losing its virginity (a hermaphrodite), has been exploited and commercialized, to compound greed… (Hence bunny and eggs!)
Then I came to the east and discovered that the Easter Bunny was on the dinner plate many times of the year for a meal and not even daring to show his head at Easter time, or any time for that matter. For in the East, Easter is very specific and taught very specifically: Easter is the fundamental and most important festival of the Eastern and Oriental Orthodox Churches:
Greek Orthodox Easter…
This is the Expected and Holy Day,
The One among the Sabbaths,
The Sovereign and Lady of days,
Feast of feasts, Celebration of celebrations,
On which we praise Christ for all eternity!
Christ is risen from the dead,
Trampling down death by death,
And upon those in the tombs
Bestowing life!
The Western Easter Bunny …
Well in the East they forgot to spice it all up with an imaginary rabbit and they forgot to give all the kids tons of candy. Why all they get here (Unless it is a western sponsored church or NGO activity!) is a bunch of preaching about how you better get your act together…
Why how dare the East ruin the world of Easter Bunnies and candy overdoses. How dare they even try to make it out that Easter is about Jesus and not the Easter Bunny…
Why can you imagine a world that does not have huge Easter baskets full of green fake grass and enough candy and toys to keep a kid on a sugar overdose for a week? Could you imagine a world without the Easter Bunny?
Could you imagine a world that actually practices the fact that Easter is only about Jesus?
In the Orthodox and Eastern Catholic Churches, Easter eggs are dyed red to represent the blood of Christ, with further symbolism being found in the hard shell of the egg symbolizing the sealed Tomb of Christ — the cracking of which symbolized his resurrection from the dead.
I couldn’t until I came to live in Russia and then discovered that commercialization is not a true part of life in most of the world, except in the west and that is a shame. Though we do have eggs painted here and believe you me, they utilize these eggs as food. A eastern Easter egg has special meaning.. >>>
Tidbit Time: Boil eggs in water that has white onions and vinegar boiling also. The eggs shell turns blood red and or close enough. It is the traditional Russian way to do it…
So I will celebrate Easter in the east and that will fall on: Sunday, April 8th – Orthodox Easter 2018…
Happy Easter in the Western World. No I am not sour on the West, I am just informed and not uninformed and that information has given me the ability to see right from wrong…
Easter is still based on the same things, be it east or west: “The resurrection of Jesus!”
But something happened in the west and that something is what is destroying the whole western society and its moral structure. We did the same to Christmas and many other very important holidays. It is called commercialism and greed. I hope that it never takes over the east as bad as it has in the west…
On the 28th of April, 2019 you need to stop and think about Jesus and what he did for us. For only at that time will it “not” be associated with an Easter Bunny and tons of Candy…
A 20-year-old amateur painter has won Russia’s national beauty pageant and will now represent the country in international competitions. Alina Sanko was just crowned Russia’s most beautiful woman. What generation produced the millennial’s?
What generation produced the generation that produced the millennial’s?
What generation produced the generation and the generation and the generation?
On and on and on…
All generations failed and the result is now irrationality on steroids…
No one is blameless and or capable of being blamed..
Maybe we should stop blaming others/everything but what is real and get our act together, before we become extinct as a species…
I just make my own coffee and try to never buy any coffee anywhere, due to cost. But our world is telling me that I am not able to make a decent cup of coffee and need to buy it made by someone a robot…
The stuffed animal picture was taken for two reasons….interesting and a chickadee….sitting on the head of the brown stuffed animal…

The blue stairs are an example of getting away with something that is illegal. This is common here in Moscow and that is fine with me and 99% of everyone. I do get testy if they block sidewalks and such. These people have made their home have a direct path to the outside…
The tree thingy is so common….The point is it is still heavy as can be. It will still and most likely will, pull the wire down. The other point is, the tree was holding up the wire, now the wire is being pulled away from the building…
This is human brain power at work and or the lack of brain power at work…and the truth is, the ones cutting it down are 99% most likely, illegally in Russia and being paid under the table to work…
So they do not care…
The buses are all waiting to start their day. Most are in one bus and drinking coffee and bull%^$%’ing about life…
MOSCOW, April 12. /TASS/. Multipolarity is about to replace the Western liberal model of development, which is losing its attractiveness, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at his annual meeting with students and professors at the Foreign Ministry’s Diplomatic Academy.”
The Western liberal model of development, which particularly stipulates a partial loss of national sovereignty – this is what our Western colleagues aimed at when they invented what they called globalization – is losing its attractiveness and is no more viewed as a perfect model for all. Moreover, many people in the very western countries are skeptical about it,” Lavrov said.
According to him, global development is guided “by processes aimed at boosting multipolarity and what we call a polycentric world order.” The Russian top diplomat pointed out that the foundation for such a world order was being laid and new centers of economic growth were emerging. In this regard, he mentioned Asian Pacific countries that managed to increase their share of global GDP from 15.9% to 37.7% in the past 20 years.
Clearly, multipolarity and the emergence of new centers of power in every way requires efforts to maintain global stability and search for a balance of interests and compromises, so diplomacy should play a leading role here,” Lavrov went on to say. “Particularly because there are a lot of issues that require generally acceptable solutions. These include regional conflicts, international terrorism, food security and environmental protection. This is why we believe that only diplomacy can help make agreements and reach sustainable decisions that will be accepted by all,” he emphasized.
In this connection, the Russian foreign minister expressed regret that “our Western partners, led by the United States, are reluctant to make agreements on common approaches to resolving issues.” “The US and its allies are trying to impose their approaches on others,” Lavrov noted. “They are guided by a clear desire to preserve their centuries-long dominance in global affairs although from the economic and financial standpoint, the US – alone or with its allies – can no longer resolve all global economic and political issues,” he said.”In order to preserve their dominance and recover their indisputable authority, they use blackmail and pressure. They don’t hesitate to blatantly interfere in the affairs of sovereign states,” Lavrov emphasized.
Everyone is getting ready to bake a and or many Kulich. The Kulich preparation starts several days before Easter. Kulich can contain candied fruit, almonds, and raisins, sometimes flavored with rum and saffron, and prepared like a bread. It is most always baked in a special kind of pan – tall and cylindrical, sort of like a coffee can. When the cake was done, it was decorated with white frosting drizzled down the sides. On the side, spelled out in pieces of candied fruit, were the letters XB, representing the Cyrillic letters for “Christos voskres” or “Christ is risen.”
*** This Kulich is very very (very) important for Easter ***
So we are going to make a much simpler version and it still is quite good. Of course there are 48,000,000 + Kulich recipes, in which to delight your senses…
Therefore lets try this one…

1 cup of milk
1 cup of sour-cream
1 cup of eggs

Mix all the ingredients well in a large bowl. Fill as many coffee can type forms with greased sides as you want to have cakes, but make them only a third full to allow for expansion…

Then bake up to an hour at around 300 – 350 degrees F (160 – 180 C.) or about until golden brown and a test knife or toothpick comes out clean not wet…
