The world upside down…

It is extremely symptomatic that the nation (Turkey) which had fought dozen or so wars with Russia since the late 1700’s and has generally been considered main regional rival to the Russians (except briefly, during the Stalin-Ataturk rapprochement in the mid-to-late 1920s), is now consistently a more friendly and reliable ally of Russia than it is to United States, the nation it practically never warred with (except very, very briefly and on an insignificant scale) with which it was militarily allied since at least 1949…

The United States government should seriously and as a matter of the highest national emergency, analyze what it is about its international behavior that is turning off and away friends and foes alike and transforming them into sworn enemies…

May I respectfully suggest that general dishonesty, duplicity, cynicism and total unreliability of the American officials and casual, nonchalant pragmatism (read: Wild West Gangsterism) of the American foreign policy and blatant in-your-face lack of respect for the rest of the world may be to blame…

Turkey – like the rest of the world – is quickly learning/has learned the invaluable lesson: a reliable enemy is much better than an unreliable friend…

But lets talk and work it out…

I tire of people who constantly trill, “You have to work within to change the system”…

As if…!!! What???

I don’t recall stories about Jefferson and company back in ye ole days of yore, sitting around and debating over biscuits and tea, whether this method or that would work “within the system”…

They made a stand and took action knowing that failure was a one way ticket to the gallows…

Talk leads to nothing more than further talk and obfuscation by those in power…

Does anyone think for a minute that those in “POWER” will suddenly change course and sail for your interests over theirs?

Assange Has Been Arrested For US Extradition

So there you have it. Extradited for journalism. In a blur, everything that Assange and WikiLeaks have been warning about for years has been proven correct, contrary to mountains of claims to the contrary by establishment loyalists everywhere. The same government which tortured Chelsea Manning is in the process of extraditing her publisher so that they can silence him forever. Everyone who has ever denied that this was happening needs to hang their heads in shame for scoffing at a very real threat to press

Update:

The Russian Foreign Ministry has said the manner in which the UK government executed the arrest of WikiLeaks co-founder Julian Assange is demeaning to human dignity, and his long-running persecution is a blow to journalism. Commenting on the arrest and detention of the publisher in the UK on Thursday, the ministry’s spokesperson, Maria Zakharova, condemned the British authorities for manhandling the 47-year-old Assange as he was being hauled out of the Ecuadorian Embassy in London.

Shocked Vladimir Putin Slowly Realizing He Didn’t Conspire With Trump Campaign…

MOSCOW—Saying that he had been “totally blindsided” by the revelations from the recently released findings of the Mueller investigation, a shocked Vladimir Putin reportedly came to the realization Tuesday that he didn’t conspire with Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign after all. “What the hell? I worked so hard on this—if I wasn’t colluding with the Trump campaign, who the hell was I colluding with?” said the dumbfounded Russian president, growing increasingly angry as he scrolled through his email inbox and recounted his numerous efforts at covert communication with individuals who he had thought were high-ranking Trump officials, but now he suspected were bots or anonymous internet trolls. “Man, it seemed so legit. I can’t believe I let myself get conned like this. I spent so much time emailing back and forth with DonaldTrump46@hotmail.com about compromising the democratic voting process, and now it turns out it was all fake? And we spent so much time gathering all that kompromat on the wrong people. Goddammit, I feel like I’ve wasted my life.” At press time, Putin was frantically double-checking that Russia had assisted in propping up a dictator in Syria and not some other country.

Russian Recipe: Pasta with bell peppers

Here is a popular recipe with the Russians. This really hits the spot on a cold winter night and it gives lots of carbohydrates to have energy to burn when the temperature plummets. While it is not a Russian original it is a Russian style favorite and so lets make Pasta with Bell Peppers…

Ingredients:

  • 500 grams of pasta noodles (tagliatelle, spaghetti, linguini or anything that is pasta)
  • 4 bell type peppers of each color (green, red, yellow, orange)
  • 2 to 3 oz of sliced black olives (or green if you prefer)
  • 250 grams feta cheese – chopped
  • 2 cloves or fingers of garlic – chopped
  • 6 fresh sprigs of basil
  • 4 pinches of dried oregano
  • 100 ml 100% pure salad type olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Designed for serving 4 people…

Cut the bell peppers into long vertical slices…

Peel and chop the garlic…

Add half of the olive oil to a non stick skillet…

Heat but not fry the bell peppers in the olive oil. Do not turn up heat more than to warm, not fry!

Add the chopped garlic…

Add the oregano…

Stir, without removing from the low heat for 2 minutes, then simmer over very low heat for 20 minutes. You want to mix flavors but maintain a slight crispness to the peppers…

In the meantime boil pasta in boiling salted water (see cooking time on package – 10 to 11 minutes)…

Drain pasta in a colander add back to a pan, stir, add the chopped feta cheese and pour the second half of the olive oil over the pasta…

Stir, sprinkle with salt and pepper plus basil…

Add sliced black olives…

Then I like to try to drain most of the oil from peppers that are simmering, with a slotted spoon and lay them as a topping on the pasta and feta, in your favorite plate or bowl…

Serve immediately with garlic bread or toast…

Drink Milk…

You have to smile as you walk around. In Russia you never know what you will find on a billboard or the side of a truck. It is all good and not just Hollywood movie stars that are targeted…

Putin and Medvedev get their share of advertisement in Russia…

The above item in the image has caught my eye several times as I walk…

Today I decided to stop and walk into the yard at the flats it was in and check it out. From a distance I was thinking a handle to lift the concrete slab with….but it is a scooter and or bicycle lock system…

It is even wrapped in electrical tape to keep from scratching the bike. I think the lock is abandoned and non-used now, but creativity is the answer to many things…

Life is good in Russia…
