Sweetpea and her son went to the new fast food in Russia. It simply is the same as the old and when I asked Sveta what she had? As 90% of the time she ever went to McD’s she said, Fish Fillet! Except now it is called Fish Sandwich and she said it tasted exactly the same as before. Then when I asked about the name of the place? That is when I get the same from my Sweetpea as everyone who sees the name?

The working name for the new brand has been announced as ‘Vkusno & Tochka’…

Vkusno translates to Tasty and from there I get twenty answers for the next part…

Tochka translates as the period at the end of the sentence you just wrote (.)

“dot, point, period, full stop, full point”

So after talking to my Russian Expert, SweetPea?

I get nowhere farther and she just says Tasty and “that is it”!

So I decided to correct this “Whatchamacallit” issue…

The old McDonald’s is gone and ‘Vkusno & Tochka’ is now the new name. So Tasty and ‘blah blah’ does not work for me. nor as a business name. The name as with so much in Russia is backwards and that is that. It is Russia you know?

What they are saying is that the new McDonald’s called ‘Vkusno & Tochka’ is “Just a Tasty Place to Eat!” and that is it period! That should become for being easy to react on the great billboard of life type advertisement, “Just Tasty”…

Which easily means that our food is just tasty and delicious, Yummy!

Thus, it seems to be being called more often than not, ‘Tasty Period’ and I guess that works, except that means it is, “Just Tasty”! It is also called Delicious period, Delicious Dot, Tasty Dot and oh well. That is the key right there. Tasty is okay, but delicious is grand! Tasty is not a word to intermingle with delicious. Delicious is connotative to a much higher level of yummy, than just being tasty. You would not tell mamma her food is just tasty!

Mamma’s food is delicious!

My business senses scream when I machine translate and that is exactly what a billion Indians and Chinese will do as they travel to Russia for holidays. Many times it says, “Tasty and Dot”. Excuse me? I just wanna eat and not have to decipher what kind of food this place is gonna feed me? Is is delicious? Is it good? Why do I have to eat DOTS?

The name bothers me from a rational promotional point of view and if I question the name, then there is something wrong with the presentation of the name. I ran corporate food service for years and years and I have owned several very successful restaurants. I do know what I am talking about, even if you don’t care about what I am talking about…

From a Russian perspective? Since Russians are such a introvert society, it all works and they just go with the flow. Though they could have put a punch into the name as it is spoken…

‘Tasty Period’ should be ‘Just Tasty’ and that does not work as it should. ‘Just Tasty’ is still not expressive enough for a business. Then I woke this morning and decided to give my two cents worth on this subject. Sorry but the name irritates me. Thus I, whom no one cares to ask, have settled on what they did wrong?

Prosto Vkusno (Просто Вкусно) or my finale say in English…

“Simply Delicious” and or “Just Delicious” – the beginning is acceptable to have variants, the ending has to be delicious. What ever food they serve is delicious. Not just tasty, not just good, not just food, not just okay, but delicious!

That is a solid name for the new fast food in Russia. It brings forth the desire to eat and evokes the good feelings of wholesome foods! It also does not have a mile long list of variations to confuse the peasants. It simply is what it reads as, “Prosto Vkusno says, Simply Delicious” and the Chinese translating it, get the ideal that the food within is tasty, delicious, yummy and simple and basic. Just what someone traveling needs to understand…

Instead we have “Tasty Whatchamacallit”, because everyone has a different ending for the name!

And my Sweetpea went to try ‘Vkusno & Tochka’ and munched!

“How did it taste?”, I asked…

To begin with, I would like to join the previous speakers in thanking President of the People’s Republic of China Xi Jinping and all our Chinese friends for their proactive efforts this year to promote our strategic partnership within BRICS.

The countries that form this group have been seeking to step up their cooperation on all global and regional matters. The BRICS format has been consistently increasing its prestige and international influence. This is an objective process, since the five BRICS countries, as we all know, have immense political, economic, scientific, technical and human potential. We have everything we need to work together and achieve results for ensuring global stability and security, sustained growth and prosperity, and better well-being for our people.

I believe that the topic of today’s meeting, Foster High-Quality BRICS Partnership, Usher in a New Era for Global Development, is very relevant. Considering the complexity of the challenges and threats the international community is facing, and the fact that they transcend borders, we need to come up with collective solutions. BRICS can make a meaningful contribution to these efforts.

We have repeatedly said that challenges like conflict settlement, the fight against terrorism and organised crime, including the criminal use of new technologies, climate change, and the spread of dangerous infections, can only be addressed through joint efforts.

And, of course, it is only on the basis of honest and mutually beneficial cooperation that we can look for ways out of the critical situation that has emerged in the world economy because of the ill-conceived and selfish actions of certain states, which, by using financial mechanisms, are actually shifting their own macroeconomic policy mistakes onto the rest of the world.

We are confident that today, as never before, the world needs the BRICS countries’ leadership in defining a unifying and positive course for forming a truly multipolar system of interstate relations based on the universal norms of international law and the key principles of the UN Charter. In this context, we can count on support from many states in Asia, Africa and Latin America, which are seeking to pursue an independent policy.

I am sure that by tradition the present BRICS Summit will be substantive and effective, and that we will manage to hold a frank and detailed exchange of views on all the most important global and regional issues and various aspects of strategic partnership, including in the extended dialogue format of BRICS+.

Let me stress: Russia is ready to continue promoting close and versatile interaction with all BRICS partners and contributing to the group’s greater role in international affairs.

◽️Successful offensive of Russian units towards Lugansk within 5 days has resulted in the liberation of Loskutovka, Podlesnoye, Mirnaya Dolina, Shchebkaryer, Vrubovka, Nyrkovo, Nikiolayevka, Novoivanovka, Ustinovka and Ray-Aleksandrovka.

◽️Group of Ukrainian units has been completely isolated near Gorskoye and Zolotoye.

◽️This pocket has encircled 4 battalions: 3rd Mechanised Battalion of 24th Mechanised Brigade, 15th Mountain Assault Battalion of 128th Mountain Assault Brigade, 42nd Mechanised Infantry Battalion of 57th Mechanised Infantry Brigade, 70th Battalion of 101st Territorial Defence Brigade, as well as an artillery group of 57th Mechanised Infantry Brigade, a group of Nazis from Right Sector organisation and a detachment of foreign mercenaries.

📊 In total, the Gorskoye pocket has isolated up to 2,000 people: about 1,800 servicemen, 120 Nazis from Right Sector, up to 80 foreign mercenaries, as well as over 40 armoured combat vehicles and about 80 guns and mortars.

◽️41 servicemen abandoned their resistance and surrendered voluntarily just over the past 24 hours.

◽️According to the prisoners, the encircled Ukrainian units are exhausted. The units are currently manned by less than 40%. Higher Ukrainian command has lost control over these units. Armament, munitions, fuel and other logistic supply is completely stopped.

◽️Russian troops are straitening the Gorskoye encirclement by launching uninterrupted attacks at the enemy. Half of Zolotoye had been taken under control over yesterday.

◽️The enemy suffers considerable losses in other directions, too.

💥High-precision attacks of Russian Aerospace Forces at three bases of foreign mercenaries in Nikolayev, Golitsyno (Nikolayev region) and Oleshki (Kharkov region) have resulted in the elimination of more than 200 ‘soldiers of fortune’ and up to 100 Ukrainian nationalists.

◽️Desertion and refusals to be involved in operations are becoming widespread in the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). Over 30 Ukrainian servicemen from one of the battalions of 25th Airborne Brigade have abandoned their positions and personal weapons near Aleksandropol (Donetsk People’s Republic).

◽️To replenish the losses in manpower, Ukrainian command are forced to form separate rifle battalions formed by untrained, mobilised citizens in each regions towards Donetsk and Lugansk.

💥 Operational-tactical and army aviation, missile troops and artillery have neutralised AFU manpower and military equipment at 367 areas. 5 depots of munitions, missiles, artillery armament and logistic supplies near Privolye (Lugansk People’s Republic) and Nikolayev, as well as artillery and mortar units in 62 areas, including an artillery battery of M-777 howitzers near Oleshki (Kharkov region).

💥Bastion coastal missile system has launched an attack at the firing position of S-300 air defence missile system near Odessa. The target has been eliminated.

◽️Attacks launched by aviation, missile troops and artillery have resulted in the elimination of more than 620 nationalists, 19 tanks and other armoured combat vehicles, as well as 17 special vehicles.

💥Russian air defence means have destroyed 2 Su-25 airplanes near Dolgenkoye (Kharkov region) and Vysokopolye (Nikolayev region).

💥5 Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles have been shot down near Popasnaya and Kapitanovo (Lugansk People’s Republic), Verbovka, Donetskoye (Kharkov region), as well as 5 Tochka-U tactical missiles near Stakhanov, Lugansk and Izyum.

💥In total, 213 airplanes and 132 helicopters, 1,334 unmanned aerial vehicles, 350 anti-aircraft missile systems, 3,769 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 659 combat vehicles equipped with multiple rocket-launching systems, 3,002 field artillery cannons and mortars, as well as 3,835 units of special military equipment have been destroyed during the special military operation.

▪️ The defeated 34th Battalion of the 57th Mechanised Infantry Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) has lost over 150 persons killed and about 450 persons wounded near Mirnaya Dolina (Lugansk People’s Republic).

▫️ There are no more than 15-20 soldiers left in each company of this battalion. Junior commanders have abandoned their personnel and deserted from the operations area.

▪️ Units of the 30th Mechanised Brigade of the AFU near Klinovoye (Donetsk People’s Republic) have been left with less than 50% of personnel as a result of attacks launched by the Russian Armed Forces. More than 170 other critically wounded soldiers and officers have been evacuated by their command from the operations area.

▫️ Russian Federation Armed Forces continue launching attacks at military facilities located in Ukraine.

💥 On June 22, high-precision armament of Russian Aerospace Forces eliminated 49 fuel storage facilities designed for AFU military equipment, as well as up to 50 combat vehicles with multiple rocket launchers in hangars, including foreign-manufactured ones.

💥 High-precision armament of Russian Aerospace Forces has also neutralised 3 armoured vehicle reparation bases near Nikolayev, 4 command posts, manpower and military equipment at 18 areas.

✈️ Operational-tactical and army aviation has eliminated manpower and military equipment at 96 areas and 1 radar post near Konstantinovka (Kharkov region).
