Our city in Russia is getting serious about pedestrians, finally…
Now at all major intersections around town, the cops are stopping people and kindly explaining why it is important to use seat belts. They do not ticket, they explain and warn that it is a law…
This morning I have watched people in cars being pulled over dozens of times at intersections. I watched to see what the cops are doing and they are being polite and explaining the facts. No hate and no scare tactics. I watched…
I like that approach and that is the common approach in our beautiful city of Korolev, Russia. It definitely works to get people to obey the laws. No hate, just explanations of why and what to do. Korolev is really trying to keep a lid on traffic issues. We are a very busy city and growing like a weed. Many outsiders seem to think that laws are for locals only and it gets out of hand at times. I am thankful that the city is working on making it safer for us people that walk and drive…and I do both regularly…
Yet, I still have hated seat belt laws all my life, though they have saved my life before and I grudgingly use them. I do not like tickets. Besides I like to live. I still have plenty to see and do and also Russian drivers suck… 😉
