New data from the CDC released on Friday estimates that so far this season, at least 6.4 million people have caught the flu, 55,000 people have been hospitalized and 2,900 people have died — 800 more people then were estimated the week before.

Until recently, you could only get a permit and hunt game with rifles and or shotguns, it was against the law to hunt any animals with bows and crossbows; but….now Russians have the ability to get a hunting license and a possession permit to shoot wild game with arrows from a longbow or a crossbow…
Bow hunting is now officially allowed in Russia after a new hunting law came into force on this last Wednesday. (29-01-2020)
The law originally signed by President Putin in August 2019, has been finally put in place and introduces the bow and crossbow as separate types of civilian hunting weapons. Previously, they could only be used during sports events, and it was illegal to hunt animals using any form of archery…
This is going to put a whole new twist on wild boar and deer hunting in Russia…

MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The FSB said last week that thousands of anonymous bomb threats had been sent via Dutch internet service StartMail. Russian media watchdog Roskomnadzor blocked access to StartMail in Russia, but schools, courts and hospitals across the country continue receiving threats.
Since the so-called email terrorists continue distributing fake bomb threats to Russian facilities and are now using Swiss internet service ProtonMail, the service will be blocked in the country, the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) said on Wednesday.
“From 24 January, anonymous users have been using Protonmail.com email service (Switzerland) to continue their criminal activities. Similar messages with bomb threats were sent to emails of courts located in four [federal] subjects across Russia. Texts also mentioned 830 allegedly mine-infested objects of social and transport infrastructure. All the threats were fake,” the FSB said in a press release.
According to the FSB, this internet service was already used for distributing fake bomb threats to 123 facilities across Russia last year.
The FSB added that access to the service was blocked in Russia starting Wednesday.
Since November, a massive wave of bomb threats has hit Russian institutions, including schools, kindergartens, shopping malls, as well as metro stations, prompting mass evacuations. So far, no explosive devices have been found following the messages, with all of them being just hoaxes.

I think Sveta and I saw that there was over 1500 flats in the newest built section of flats. We looked at them once. No parking at all and I mean at all. But it is a small town once filled… (3000 to 4000 ? people)
I walked and felt better this morning. I have had a couple of rough days. What we in America would call the Stomach Flu. But there is no such thing actually. But I had it regardless and feel better now…
It was still nice and a good walk…

The agency estimates that so far this flu season there have been 9.7 million flu illnesses, 87,000 hospitalizations and 4800 deaths from flu, including 32 pediatric deaths. More than 170 million doses of the flu vaccine have been administered, they added.

Flu season is running all over coronavirus season so far. Looks like we should be doubling down and be worried about the flu and the coronavirus running at the same time. What happens when you get both at the same time? It might make a bad death scene issue…

Worldwide, the flu causes up to 5 million cases of very serious illness all over the world and kills up to 650,000+ people every year, according to the World Health Organization (WHO)…
And yet, we aren’t particularly concerned about the flu and are riding the Coronavirus horse to death…

The regular Flu is a killer and has always been a killer of humans….yet I see no panic media about “The Flue”…

But…
Coronaviruses are a group of viruses that cause diseases in mammals, including humans, and birds. In humans, the virus causes respiratory infections which are typically mild but, in rare cases, can be lethal. In cows and pigs they may cause diarrhea, while in chickens it can cause an upper respiratory disease.

So I am confused when I look at Flu related issues…
In total, the CDC estimates that up to 42.9 million people got sick during the 2018-2019 flu season, 647,000 people were hospitalized and 61,200 died. That’s fairly on par with a typical season, and well below the CDC’s 2017-2018 estimates of 48.8 million illnesses, 959,000 hospitalizations and 79,400 deaths.

So to my understanding we have many die from the regular Flu, yet we do not panic about that. Yet, we do panic about the Coronaviruses….which seem to be milder overall when compared to the Flu…
To add to my confusion…
Almost everyone gets a coronavirus infection at least once in their life, most likely as a young child. In the United States, coronaviruses are more common in the fall and winter, but anyone can come down with a coronavirus infection at any time.

At least 80 people have died in China due to the deadly infection, with over 2,700 cases confirmed in the country. At the moment, medical authorities have placed several cities on lockdown, while numerous countries are introducing measures to stop the spread of the disease.
“At the moment, we have identified more than 100 people who have clinical signs of an infectious disease, and at the same time have a history of visiting China. Each of them was identified promptly, isolated, placed in a hospital in a boxed ward, and fully examined. In each case, the aetiology of infectious disease has been established”, head of the Russian consumer protection agency Rospotrebnadzor Olga Popova stated on Monday.
She also expressed hope that a vaccine against the coronavirus would be created soon, adding that at least two Russian laboratories are currently working to develop one.
But: Shouldn’t the whole world be locked down for the FLU? (If we use anything I see on media as a base for locking down cities…)
Thus, I will wait and watch and try to understand what is happening and why is this virus much more important that regular Flu?
Maybe I am just stupid or something. We wear masks and a standard face mask is not able to come even near stopping a virus from passing through. The regular flu kills a whole bunch of people every year, after year….

Your ass is grass if you are exposed to a virus and you think that a N95 mask will stop it and or even hinder its movement. A virus is too damn small….you need a mask and suit like what you see the guy wearing. Got any of those outfits? I don’t and I bet you don’t either. But they will be glad to sell you a two cent N95 mask for $10+ and you can walk around and feel better…
Wonder how long a filter system will last. they did not last very long when I was in the military and you started to suffocate very fast as they clogged up with dust and particulates….(Then there is that issue of changing filters while trying to keep from getting the virus?)
Whatever and we will just watch and see what happens!
