How is the world ruled and how do wars start? Diplomats tell lies to journalists and then believe what they read. – Karl Kraus

The other day I counted sixteen ravens floating above the bell tower. Our family of huge ravens has discovered a new treat in life. They float on the updraft created when we have a northern wind and play for hours during the day. I have watched them just float in place, like a helicopter and not move hardly at all. They can rise and fall and turn and never flap their wings. It makes me wish that I could do the same…
Several years ago we had only two huge ma and pa raven. But the family is growing and doing well. They actually are a blessing around the village. They clean the village of all the junk that people toss around. I watch them and they are really good about keeping the Tiny Russian Village scrubbed up. They play in the village all day, but live in nests in the huge forest nearby. I have yet to find their nests, but I will this summer…
The tower was covered in pigeons, but the ravens have moved them out and taken over the tower. That is fine with me and Boza and I have reached a neutral territory with these ravens. At first we (Boza and I against Ravens from Hell!) fought and disliked each others presence. Now we tolerate each other. They even land near me as I sit and watch with one eye on food and one eye on us. Boza likes to wait a few minutes and then run as fast as he can to chase them. they seem to have gathered a delight for teasing Boza and it is a win win for both parties…

Our road is frozen every morning and can be traveled, but after noon comes, it becomes a sandy mud bath and it is steep enough to stop almost everything that tries to come up it. There is one UAZ that has fat aggressive tires and it makes it. Other than that, we have people get to the second hump in the road and slide back down. They are making a mess of our road, but since mainly sand, it all smooths out in the end…
As you see we still have snow…

I have been cleaning the side yard and the back of the house. I have to get it all cleaned up and all the good wood stacked. Before I can build a chicken coop. It is a mess and yesterday, I burned and stacked half of that mess…
I listened to the geese passing by overhead all day and it was wonderful. I also heard what I call freshwater seagulls. They are coming back by the thousands…
I worked too hard and too long yesterday. I am paying for it today. But I made a huge dent in the mess and maybe tomorrow I will feel up to hitting it again. I can not wait until it is clean. You can not even walk through it, or at least until yesterday. Boza and I can now walk around and through the mess now. I am burning the rotten wood and to the left of the image above, you can see the piles of boards I am building. These boards are going to build a chicken coop and by next year, we will have chickens. The old chicken coop is on the right of the image and is on the house. that I have to change. I have to make a free standing unit not attached to the home…
Soon the yard will be done all the way around the home…

I want to thank people for donations, the last donations are going to go for getting the garden supplies bought. I also am trying to find some white lilacs. The purple we have are fabulous, but I want to have white on the opposite side of the yard. I have not seen white yet in Russia, but I am sure they are available. The yard I am working on was a jungle of wood vine and cherry trees. The cherries were wild and terrible. I want to have white lilacs in there place…
I also want to try to grow Tea Roses. My favorite type of flower. I am not sure if they will survive the winters here, but I want to try. Vova has looked over the garden area and is getting ready to rototiller it up, as soon as the ground warms up and snow is gone. This year we plan carrots, potatoes, beets, radishes, turnips, pumpkins and who knows what!

We talk about flying like an eagle, but after the last few days, I would be glad to fly like a raven. They are having so much fun and I wonder why we as humans have forsaken such fun in life. We have many things that we can fly like a raven or eagle at and we seem to keep ourselves grounded and unhappy…
I am going to fly like a raven today and float in the air…
Have a nice day…

I am so happy with Windows 8.1 and so unhappy with Windows 10. There really is no comparison between the two and livability is the reason that Windows 8.1 is the best. Windows 10 has so many idiosyncrasies that it makes it hard to love unless you simply have plenty of resources to waste and throw away into Microsoft’s lap…
But Microsoft continues to “TRY” to put Windows 10 on my computer. Five times I have had to remove and or hide updates and I can not allow updates without my looking them over first. I have installed two programs to watch out over this occurrence and it is getting old, old in the fact that Microsoft is trying to shove something down my throat that I have tried and dislike so much that if they continue, I will switch to Linux and be done with Windows…
First program below in block quote and I run it every time I have Windows updates and this is actually a redundant program, but has helped me to keep Windows 10 at bay…
I Don’t Want Windows 10
=================================This program removes the Get Windows 10 (GWX) update (KB3035583) from an infected Windows 7
or Windows 8.1 system. How to Run
==========Click on “I Don’t Want Windows 10.exe”
“Side-by-side configuration is incorrect” Error
===============================================Run “vcredist_x86.exe”, located in this folder.
I think I have removed the necessity to use this, but it’s there just in case.
REDISTRIBUTING THIS SOFTWARE

The program above is a non installed exe and you run it manually as needed…
This next program is a watch dog type program and it installs and gyards your system. It works and works good. I use the above program as a feel good situation, simply for my brain to function better… 😉

* Download Stand-alone *This is a free tool that can remove and disable the ‘Get Windows 10’ notification area icon on Windows 7 and Windows 8. Recent versions can also disable ‘Upgrade to Windows 10’ behavior in the Windows Update control panel and do much more. See the user guide at the Ultimate Outsider blog. You can still download GWX Control Panel as a standalone executable if you don’t like installers. Please see the “GWX CONTROL PANEL RELEASE NOTES” section at the user guide for MD5 and SHA-1 checksums of all official releases.
I am giving these links not because I get anything for doing it. I think people need to have ability to stop companies like Microsoft from invading your life if you so desire…
The GWX is the best and just install, read what to do and do it. It also allows you to reverse everything and allow Windows to update…

To be honest Windows 10 was smooth and worked good. At least on the surface, but things that mean alot to me were showing up and not least of all; the data usage on a very limited data situation was not controllable. That just makes n sense to me. For I am sorry Microsoft, but not all of us live with a golden spoon in our mouths and we have limitations to what we can spend on things…
I personally thought that Windows 10 is going to be a huge expensive financial mess in the future and I guess my distrust of Microsoft makes me think that we will pay for “Free Windows 10” at one point or another. I won’t and that is simple. I will ride Windows 8.1 to the end of its life and beyond…
I am not going to review Windows 10 and or Windows 8.1; I will just say that Windows 8.1 is the best Windows I have ever used and I really liked Windows 7…
Windows 10 just stepped on my toes and tried to upset the apple cart…
I dislike my apple cart upset…

My second cup of coffee after walking with Boza for an hour this morning, is excellent! Boza and I got up at 5:30 a.m. instead of an earlier time this morning. We were tired, for I went to town, then decided to clean the yard. I knew snow was coming so I better get some burning of rubbish done before it snows again. I know it will snow for two reasons…
- Every old injury in and on and my body hurts like hell and I have too many injuries from all the years to list…
- Our weather station told me so yesterday and today is hollering that the pressure is steadily dropping and it has a image of clouds and snow.
So when Boza and I took off for our long walk. The sky was perfectly clear and by the time we were back, the sun had tried to come out and Old Man Winter decided to start a fight. Right now as I look out the window, the sun and clouds are playing hide and seek. It is -7 outside and looks to be a rotten day in a few hours…
The air pressure is dropping and dropping steadily. Our weather station is right on, on that account…
There is one issue with the station I have to try to correct; I temperature sensing unit is inaccurate during the day. At night it is dead on, but the way the device is designed, the sun affects the temperature as it heats up the casing that hold it. The case is design for ventilation, but as anything even white color, absorbs heat from direct sunlight and therefore, my sunny readings are high on the temperature side of things. The more sun the higher the variance. My issue is that they put the light sensor and solar panel attached to the top of the temperature sensor…
Erroneous readings are the daytime norm. I have to figure out how to shade the temperature sensor to keep the sun from raising the temperature due to absorption of and or primarily because the long wavelength, or infrared, portion of the sun’s radiation resonates well with molecules in the material and or literally any material. Thus I have to figure out how to let the resonator effect happen, but not allow the sensor to be resonating as well…
While some people may think that I may be trying to cheat the system, it is the other way around. The system is cheating me of accurate readings and anyone who goes out on a cold sunny day and works for hours, will understand that working in the shade feels much colder than working in the sun. Thus, the true temperature is more akin to the shade level than the direct sunshine level…
Got it “Kemosabe”?

Yesterday I traveled to the Big Village and everything went good. I only had a few spots that I wondered if I would make it, but since it froze so hard, I could skate over top them. Sammy the Volga was happy to get out and she was going to show me she could do it and do it she did. Vova was surprised and so was a bunch of the lake workers. But when you got mud tires like we have on our Volga, mud is not an issue. Well unless it is deep mud and then we have an issue…
I picked up three cases of Boza food, a bunch of Kyle food, flea and tick drops for Boza (yes the ticks are out,) a vacuum cleaner, some WD-40 spray, and some more odds & ends. I was a bad boy and bought a small pound cake and some roll and or wraps, with ham and cheese inside. Ooh they were so good and I so messed up my blood sugar, but hey once a month will not kill me and everything was back on track by evening and this morning I woke with a 4.7 mmo/l reading. That is good and I am happy. Happy that I cheated & made my brain satisfied and happy that I only cheated a little bit. So now back to the daily grind of watching my diet… 🙁
I read an article about a man who died of Diabetic Shock two years after losing a bunch of weight. It kinda struck me as something that is scary. He died in a hotel room as he traveled and it just seems wrong. Not wrong that something was wrong, but to loose weight and then succumb to low blood sugar. I will honestly say that low blood sugar can be scary and I have dealt with it too many times. People who do not have sugar issues have no idea about the roller coaster ride we go on many times, even if we do not cheat on food stuffs…
I believe that many diabetics prefer to live life on the high side of sugar and that is wrong and deadly also. High levels are a slow and terrible death. Limbs to be lost, internals to be strangled, nerves to destroy and many other slow long term issues that make life suck. Diabetes is a wicked illness and can sneak up on you no matter how healthy you are…

I must not be boring too many people, for readership is growing. I have toned down about America, not because I feel different and not because people do not want to hear it. For my readership is much larger when I expressed opinions about the issues in the USA. No, I have toned down about America, because I no longer consider it my home…

Home is where the heart is and Russia is in my heart and soul. I know people go to America and feel the same way and I do not fault them with that. But people fault me for falling in love with Russia and thinking that Russia is a wonderful country. I fell in love with a Russian woman and that is not what makes you fall in love with a country like Russia. For I would love Svetochka as much in China as I do in Russia…
Falling in love with a country has to do with more than just ideas and ideologies. It has to do with what is inside yourself and what your soul tells you. I am not driven by money and if I was, I would not be in Russia. Russia has ample opportunities to become wealthy, but you have to be a person out of the normal flow of life in Russia to be rich and or filthy wealthy is actually looked down upon in Russia. Success is not as glamorous to the people in Russia. Trust, friends, self-sufficiency and surviving at all costs is a much more stable and respected life…
Russians value people far more than westerner people do. That will be expressed as disbelief by many readers, but I know and I live the life. Russians make a friend and they find that being with that friend makes them smile, then you see that famous Russian smile that eludes the western people in all the images taken of the individuals in everyday Russia. For a smile has to be sincere and when Vova and I laugh and joke, we smile and all pain goes away for the duration of that smile. The same when Svetochka and I smile. I probably smile less than her by far, but when she smiles at me, my heart always warms to a toasty brown and glows inside me. For a smile is the most powerful weapon on earth and they should be used with care and respect…
In the west we smile just because we are told we have to or we are bringing down society…
Russia is very different in many areas than the western world. A perfect example is; Friends do not say thank you for things others do. It is assumed and expected that you appreciate what was done. For they would not have done it in the first place if they wanted to be thanked and praised. Praise is another form of thanks and most in Russia care not to be the center of attention. The center of attention is for extroverts and a society of introverts and intellects are not prone to narcissism…
I have learned that even a Russian extrovert is equal or less than per comparison, than an introvert in America…
That is why I garner so well with Russians, I am an introvert in America and thus at home in Russia…
For someone like me the western society is a baffle as to why it survives and why people are comfortable in it. We are what we are and need to be where we need to be. That is why borders are so daunting to me, for those borders of countries hurt us people that need to find their place in life. And after watch the immigration fiasco going on in Europe, I have to seriously doubt the reasons given for border control in the EU. Millions are just walking across the borders with fake passports and no passports; kinda stupid, why have borders at all?

Four a.m. and Boza needed to go outside. He was kind of feeling bad (Sluggish and slow or was that me feeling that way?) and I went out with to sit with him as he did his doggy business. By then since the cold had crept into my bones, I made coffee and stayed up. To be truthful I had some issues also and as I rubbed out a leg cramp that sneaked up on me. I decided that today will be a rest day for Boza and I…
I basically finished the gate yesterday, I still have to adjust the small gate, but I literally did not have the available energy to do it and do it correctly. Boza was worn out and I was worn out and we decided to stop since the daylight was almost gone. Today is much colder and we decided to rest today, just because we want to and can… 😉

While I am feeling rough today, my blood sugar this morning was 5.7 mmo/l and that is fine for me. I am down to only two sugar pills a day and that is from a high of six a day just a few weeks ago. Now I will watch carefully and watch my diet even more carefully and see how I do. I am trying to get to full diet control and not have to take pills…

I still plan on going to the Big Village tomorrow, as long as it does not snow and the freeze they say is coming, comes, I will do fine. Looks to be cold tonight… Brrr!
Vova left last night to go to his girl in Majara, he then gets his pension money and he will party, party and party some more. Boza and I went up to say Hi to Mia, for she was barking and whining at her daddy being gone. She was happy after that and calmed down. She likes Boza…

Two days ago was a Boza bonanza day; Boza found and chased four cats. All different and all during the day. It was a perfect Boza day as cats seemed to be growing in the weeds everywhere. One cat he chased all the way into the woods. Nothing in life is better than when a cat runs and then the chase is on. Boza will leave a mean cat alone, but to chase at the fastest that you can run, is a Boza day. Four times is heaven…
Never seen such fat cats run so fast… 🙂

I want to thank several people who donated to WtR. It is very much appreciated and very much helpful in keeping this old grouchy bear going in Russia. What I am doing is really significant in importance. I an American live in the rural of Russia and work, play and study right along side of everyday Russians…
I am proof positive that Russians will not eat your soul and cook your brain for breakfast, as they try daily to attack and take over your country. ~SARC~
I am starting to worry about a few people I know in the USA. Things are getting kinda thin in places and clashes are starting to swell. The elite will drive one group against the other, just as they do in other countries and people in America just ignore that when it happens. Well you just saw a perfect example in the US, of Soros funded trash, trashing…
Donations are the life blood of this project in The Tiny Russian Village. Every donation has a place and purpose to live among the natives, so to speak, in Russia. 😉 I am first hand watching Russia through not rose colored glasses, but clear untainted glasses. Even if those glasses are dirty at times, I just clean them with water and keep going…
I can promise you that Russia is not what the western media wishes you to see, read, think and know about. It is a thousand times better…
Maybe that is what scares the west? Russia is a great country, great people and a freedom filled wonderful life…

Looks like a bunch of snow later in the week and Monday will be -3 or so and Monday night -8 or so. That means Tuesday morning is my only chance to get out of here and go shopping at the Big Village for at least a few weeks. I will leave at 7 a.m. and try to get back before 9 a.m. I can not be caught in any thaw or I will never get the car back home. Tuesday afternoon is going to be +3 or so…
I am banking on the fact that it will get very cold and no more snow. Then I can run across the surface of all the bad stuff in the way… 😉

I am feeling really good!
I have halved the amount of sugar pills I take and so am stabilizing at a nice plateau. I still wake up in the morning very early and am under 4.00 mmo/l and that is not good. I am trying to wake up in the 5 to 6 range. Seems to be eluding me so far…
I have lost some more weight and definable have reached my first goal weight of 110 kilos or 242 pounds or 17.3 stone. Now it is time to get to 100 kilos or 220 pounds or 15.7 stone…
That weight I will stay at and be happy with. For at 220 lbs I will be thin at my body height and structure…

Sveta a few months back had bought us a weather station for the village. It was extremely reasonable in price and included everything to function and build it. I supplied the two screwdrivers and one pair of pliers and a lot of mental anguish as I deciphered the Chinese to English instructions…
Finally, as you see my straw boss in the background, I have my weather station installed and running…
That is a wireless weather station and I made it so that I can remove it when the weather gets to the point of destroying the device. It has a light meter, rain gauge, wind speed, wind direction, humidity, forecast and all this plus more; plus it does this inside and outside for conditions…
Yesterday, I found myself passing a kidney stone, now you know why I woke up rough that morning. I didn’t know and or realize it until hours later and lucky for me, it was small. Vova and Svetochka were worried and I just did not care as the pain is horrific with these episodes…
Therefore, I did light duty work and built my weather station. Silver lining in every cloud, my grandma would say…
The image to the right is showing the graphical interface by software for my Windows PC and the screen to the right of the big monitor is the pick up unit for gathering the data that the station creates…
All this data is able to be stored and used in a way that interests me. I want to get connected to a weather service and send the data to them.
I wanna be a weather station… 🙂

Snow, still snow and more snow. I guess people in Moscow think winter was easy this year. I always thought winter was easy in Moscow. They have 20,000 trucks and 50,000 people cleaning the streets. So yes winter is easy there…
But, ask anyone in the villages around where I am at and no one will say that winter was a piece of cake. We spent weeks at -25 and colder and the snow was deep and we still have snow. Next week is going to be frozen down to -10. We can’t even get the damn road plowed properly, so that I can get out to go to the store… 😉

The soap opera called, “As America Turns!” Is reaching a boiling point, just as the game players desire. As I said, America is the land of chaos and the people in charge think that is the way it should be. The peons all seem to just go along with it and no one seems to care what happens past their nose at any given time. We even have a hand held device that keeps your attention centered around the end of your nose and in a few generations, we will all be nearsighted and if we look up the world will be a blur…
The problem in America is that there are just too many wannabe dictators and they all wannabe now…

by John Stanton
In 2007 I wrote and presented a conceptual paper to an international studies group in Portugal. The subject matter was, generally, the use of Evolutionary Cognitive Neuroscience (ECN) to manage humanity. That paper would eventually finds its way, remarkably, into Rebecca Costa’s seminal The Watchman’s Rattle.
I said back in 2007 that America’s ongoing obsession with national security and the enormous funding necessary to soothe a national psyche of fear and war was a key driver for enhancing security thereby eliminating the uncertainty of daily living. I suggested that ECN could generate predictive and diagnostic biotechnologies to reduce tension. Such a development could eliminate much uncertainty and concomitant drama in human affairs by providing leaders with assets to manage the complexities in brain-behavior relationships. To get there though, reliable data on human beings, as they function as interconnected consumers, warfighters, enemies, refugees, diplomats, criminals, and citizens of their respective nations would need to be collected and assessed.
I went on to say that a comprehensive knowledge base of planetary ecosystems and how humans interface with those ecosystems would have to be constructed and meshed with the findings of brain-behavior functions. The dissection of the individual and global organism may lead to unprecedented forecasting capability with the ultimate outcome the creation of biomachine systems that suggest procedures and diagnostics with which to anticipate and/or minimize a wide range of human problems. Biomachine tools might become available that could suggest courses of action such as military intervention, diplomacy, containment, stability and consequence management operations, economic aid, covert operations, etc. I also briefly mentioned that one of the dangers in such a pursuit would likely be the development of neuroweaponry.
In just under ten years, the topics alluded to in my 2007 paper have taken the form of four converging and accelerating movements that seem likely to usher in drastic change in the human condition: The digitization of human behavior; cracking open the brain through neuroscience; the engineering and manipulation of human and non-human genomes; and the proliferation of the Internet of Things, which is code for the sensorization of the human/non-human, home, work, school, automobile, street, global commons, etc.
Is it any surprise that the Anthropocene is upon us?
What Happens Next?
Shoshana Zuboff, in the article, The Secrets of Surveillance Capitalism, thinks that humanity will become mentally displaced, perhaps disembodied, as behavior becomes totally predictable and free will vanishes.
“The significance of behavioral surplus was quickly camouflaged, both at Google and eventually throughout the Internet industry, with labels like “digital exhaust,” “digital breadcrumbs,”…Th
Radar Love
Social Radar has been a goal of the government and business for some time. Its applications are legion: Predictive behavioral algorithms to ensure consumers are directed to the right product to ensure steady profits; underlying predictive mathematical models that allow the military commander a quantitative, geospatial view of open or urban terrain with humans moving predictably like aircraft on an air traffic controller’s screen; and the creation of a predictive reality in which the masses believe they are “free”, but are, unknown to them, being behaviorally shaped for the larger system. These notions can be found in military doctrine and a host of academic and marketing organizations. It’s all there out in the open if anyone cares to look.
Consider The MITRE Corporation’s development of Social Radar. In Social Radar for Smart Power, Mark Maybury writes: “Conventional radar requires signatures for different kinds of objects and events: it needs to be tuned to different environmental conditions to provide accurate and reliable information. Analogously, a social radar needs signatures, calibration, and correlation to sense, if not forecast, a broad spectrum of phenomena (e.g., political, economic, social, environmental, health) and potentially forecast changing trends in population perceptions and behaviors. For example, radar or sonar enable some degree of forecasting by tracking spatial and temporal patterns (e.g. they track and display how military objects or weather phenomena move in what clusters, in which direction(s) and at what speed.) A user can thus project where and when objects will be in the future. Similarly, a social radar should enable us to forecast who will cluster with whom in a network, where, and when in what kinds of relationships…Pu
If We Kick the Ant Hill, Where will the Ants Go?
The US national security community’s dream is to have a Social Radar–like the one described above by Maybury—that would allow military commanders to lord over other countries. The Pentagon’s Sociocultural Behavior Research and Engineering in a Department of Defense Context contains this statement: “Mastery would mean that U.S. forces would have the data on indigenous populations and the training they need to move easily in those populations; could see the parameters of culture and society and integrate those with conventional mapping of the physical terrain; could detect often complex and dynamic networks, where adversaries and civilian populations are intermingled; and would possess non-kinetic tools as well as the ability to anticipate both the near-term and long-term impacts of applying those tools.”
It’s easy to pick on the Pentagon on these matters, of course. But the insidious reality is that for profit, commercial enterprises with global reach—and the many lobbyists and non-profits who work on their behalf to distort regulatory regimes designed to oversee their activities—must modify human behavior in order to control/corner global markets, turn a profit and survive. These are the new colonialists who now brandish the US military as a tool for their own ends.
If Zuboff is correct, then Google–and corporations colluding with them or like them—are engaging in a type of intellectual property theft from unwitting customers. The thoughts, feelings, the sense of individual uniqueness of a human being (or his/her genetic structure) ultimately ends up getting copyrighted, trademarked or patented by corporations. It is the Internet of Sensors, Neuroscience, Genetic Engineering and the Digitization of Earth in the techno-dictatori
Unfortunately the leadership of the dangerously privatized US military has become an extension of this techno-corporate collective and the governing civilians the collective owns. Indeed, so much so that US military leadership, while on “active duty”, emulates its mentors in the corporate world because (a.) rampant internal privatization has distorted the US military; and (b.) the private sector is where US military leaders long to be when it’s retirement time. It’s all about networking for the big payday in the private sector, or developing networking diagrams to see who the bad guys affiliate with in some remote corner of the African continent.
So it is no surprise that “…the worldview that governs the U.S military’s approach…is one where populations are de-coded as networks. To see like the twenty-first century US military is to see a world of networks. This world of networks is a secular cosmological vision derivative from the human-machine assemblages where US military personnel and institutions are imbricated. These human-machine assemblages have been violently extended…through new technologies like iris-scan biometrics devices and data-base management…many new twenty-first century technologies, like big data mining and computational social network analysis, are rooted in colonial practices.” (The Afterlives of Counterinsurgenc
