The realization that you live in a repressed society comes to a head when we allow Twitter to block truth. We allow Twitter to say statements like…

Oh, okay I get it!

We do not need something as simple as the truth mucking up the gears of progress, as we are moving forward in our quest to enact Orwell’s book 1984…

They really did not want to fix it, but they did and now we have fantastic internet again. I had to reset the antenna, for they seem to have changed some things with their 3G cell tower signal. I had to point the antenna at a different village now…. To get the best signal…

Gotta go! My two sleep heads are still sleeping and I have to think about what I will do today. We have to take the car to a nearby village and get the exhaust welded. I also have to check the rear u-joint on the drive shaft and I see a tiny oil leak at the front of the oil pan. We might have to stop at the place that fixed the oil pump, going home. They need to fix the leak…

Good Morning…

Father Frost hit hard last night. The Tiny Russian Village is frozen. The water outside is hard as a rock and the leaves left on the trees are tinkling in the breeze. Yes and the grass crunches as Boza and I walk around…

Winter is officially here…. Or did it ever leave this year? It went like this…. Last winter ended and went to one week of spring, then spring went to one week of summer, then summer went to one week of autumn and winter already came back…

Rumor has it that Old Man Winter went to Egypt and the Red Sea for vacation and had such a good time, got so much rest, that he is ready to go again! Thanks Egypt… 🙁

Today we have to get electricity for the village home done. I think I mentioned about the electric company gave away Sveta’s mothers electric account to someone else? No, then I just mentioned it…. Svetochka has been working to get a new account at the Tiny Russian Village home. They finally, it seems, found another account (some guy had two accounts for the same place) and will give it to Svetochka! I say, “Ring around the Rosie…”

This week will be the week we get the electricity settled, among other things… (Cross your fingers…)

We have always had electricity and paid the bill, but they gave the account away to someone else…. Now that is Russia for you! I love it… 😉

Had to get up at midnight and work on Boza’s eyes. He had a bad night, but we kept him comfortable and he ended up letting me sleep to 4:30 a.m. and that was nice. So I am kinda behind my normal schedule and I do not care!

The sky is already getting light, it is 6:30 a.m. as I write these words on the page…. Boza and I have walked twice, ate breakfast, danced a jig, sang a tune and Boza is now sound asleep by his mommy. I am on my second cup of coffee and it sure is a mighty fine cup of coffee this morning… “Yessiree Bob”

MegaFon has changed some policies and coverage. We seem to be in a no mans zone now for them. After more than a few years of wonderful service, they have refused to give a crap if we have internet or not in the Tiny Russian Village…

Kind of makes you sad…

We have 2G, but it is spotty at best. I keep having to restart the internet every minute of so and then it works okay for a few seconds, then dead. Our phones are on Beeline and we have always used MegaFon for internet. Hmm…. Maybe time to look at Beeline?

Therefore, write post on notepad, transfer post to site and try to post this. If you are reading this? I succeeded… And no images today…

Bear sad again, but lots to do, so who needs internet? Not me and I will make this short and sweet…

We made it to TRV…

Internet is 2G only thus, it only gives us speeds of a poor dial up modem in the Tiny Russian Village. But since I have received several emails asking if we are alive, I will make a small post…. Lets hope internet gets working today. It is 4 a.m. and Boza has had his eyes done, we walked and he is sleeping soundly by his mommy. They are both so happy to be in the village….. Me to!

We were tooling along and doing good. But I had an uneasy feeling, Sammy was acting good, but I kept stopping and checking. I have a sixth sense about such things. I never can always pinpoint exactly what the issue is, but I know something is up…

Well we hit seven kilometers outside of a truck stop area, along our road to the village and I heard the hydraulic lifters in the engine start clattering slightly. Idiot oil light came on then and I shut her down, fast. Clutch in and off to the shoulder of the road. No oil pressure at all…

Now the beauty of having a Svetochka with data on her phone. Yandex is the most wonderful search engine system in Russia, to us the whole world. Sveta got online asked Yandex who was nearby and what they could do for us and wallah wallah bing bang…. We had a tow truck and a shop at the truck stop who specialized in GAZ vehicles. Sammy is a Volga GAZ… Yippy…

It basically went like this…. Yup, no oil! Yup, no oil even in the bottom end! Yup, pull the oil pump and see if that is it… Nope…. Oops, the oil pump drive shaft is snapped in half! Oops… Okay gotta find parts… Oil filter, 5 liters of oil, antifreeze, used oil drive shaft, gasket set for top end of engine and lots of knowledge in Volga 406 engines…. And we waited… Power went down for about four hours…. Ugggghhhh…. How this happen? Oil pump ceased!

We waited all day and finally figured out that we would not get done that day. The power shortage set everything back too far to overcome. Hotel time. Take doggies? Yes! Lets go, call taxi and off we went to a trucker hotel…

Beauty of Russia…

Restaurants like doggies inside, hotels like doggies and we got a good night sleep. Next morning at 10 o’clock sharp when the guys opened up. They pulled our car out and it was ready to go. They worked late until it was finished. Total bill was less than 15,000 rubles, including hotel, meals, parts, towing and labor…

I have to thank several donations that just came in. They paid for Sammy snapping a oil shaft drive rod. Thank you all very much…. Just so people know what the donations go for…. I tell about that when I can…

Just the beauty of Russia…

By the way…. The hotel was very nice and accommodating…

Therefore, we are in the Tiny Russian Village safe and sound. We will try to get the internet working better? Try is the keyword and I will post more later tomorrow sometime…

Boza, Svetochka and I voted on when to leave for the Tiny Russian Village…

It was not a fair vote to be sure! I am at a disadvantage, Boza votes the way his mommy wants and that is that! 😉 Therefore, since Svetochka is happy to hang around Moscow and ride her bike, go shopping for stuff and play on the internet. She voted to sit here another day and leave on Thursday…. Boza immediately voted the same as Svetochka… 🙁

Then weighing my odds at the situation; I voted to stay another day also…

Something I have talked about on this blog (WtR) is about the true corruption in America. I have spent years looking at how America has pointed tainted fingers at Russia and tried to slide her behavior off and paste it onto Russia. Russia is and has been a corrupt country, as all are, but…. America is and has always been much more corrupt than I ever found Russia. As I have said, “Americans hide the corruption better than Russians!”
