Putin: “You’re talking about freedom of speech. Where is it if not here (Russia)?”

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin on Wednesday criticized a liberal radio station for laboring on behalf of U.S. foreign policy interests and going overboard with the notion of freedom of speech…

At a meeting with Russian media directors in his out-of-town residence, Putin took issue with the way Ekho Moskvy, which provides generous air time to opposition figures, handled the U.S. plans to deploy a missile defense system in Europe…

He cited a live show he had “accidentally” tuned into, featuring a panel discussion with some of the participants suggesting it did not matter how far away from the Russian borders the U.S. missile interceptors would be located…

He dismissed such claims as “utter nonsense.”

“If they are closer [to Russian borders] they will be closer to our ground based missiles and will be able to shoot them down, but if they are further away they will not reach our missiles and shoot them down,” he said addressing editor in chief Alexei Venediktov…

“How come that doesn’t matter? It does matter. It’s a fundamental issue.”

Putin said he also had a problem with the idea that the United States was proposing missile defense cooperation to Russia…

“It’s the other way around. We’re proposing [cooperation] and they’re refusing,” he said…

He slammed the show as “serving the foreign policy interests of one state with regard to another, Russia.”

Putin recalled that Ekho Moskvy is owned by a state company (Gazprom) and funded by the Russian taxpayer, adding that such things would be impossible in the United States…

“You’re talking about freedom of speech. Where is it if not here?” he asked rhetorically…

The Moscow Metro: A Russian Subway!

(If you want to see pictures of Russian Metro – most beautiful subway system in the world, please, look at this article!)

I was drinking my morning cup of coffee and was thinking about that my wife came home a little upset yesterday. Now Svet just does not get upset at the world, she is very calm and peaceful. So when she says that she saw something that upset her and she took pictures! I listened, (yes I actually listen).

So to help understand, lets look at the pictures first.
1st picture: Elder Babushka having to stand on metro.
2nd picture: First 3 of the 6 much younger men sitting and not offering their seat.
3rd picture: Second 3 of the 6 younger men in the same row.

As you can see they are trying to hide their faces and look the other way. Svet got a little bit peeved at this display of inconsideration.

In Russia, The children and elderly are to be given seats. The men and younger women should stand when possible. My wife says that she is a younger woman, so she will stand most times when Metro is crowded.

These men know that they should get up, but they really do not care! That is what upset my wife.

I thought about this this morning and decided to post an article about it.

I think that on public transport that men, if able should give their seat to older women (babushkas), children, Mothers and anyone else that seems to have problems standing. I was raised to be polite and considerate.

What makes this even more important is that young women in Russia will get up and give their seat to elderly and children much more than men.(That makes us men look really bad)

Iran will return Drone: Many will say they are stupid, but I say they got brass balls…

Iran said it will send the U.S. a toy model of a RQ-170 Sentinel drone in response to Washington’s request to return the aircraft that crashed in Iran last year, Iran’s Radio Payam said on Tuesday.

The miniature will be sent to Washington during a special ceremony to mark the 34th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution in Iran on February 5.

Iran says it brought down the U.S. stealth reconnaissance drone, which crossed into Iran’s airspace from neighboring Afghanistan and fell there on December 4.

A group of Iranians decided to manufacture and market a 1:80 scale model of the drone “at their own expense,” the radio said.

The models, measuring 30 by 14 cm will cost 70,000 rials, or around $6 at the current exchange rate.

The toy will bear an inscription: “We will trample the U.S.”

Russia Wants Libya Thoroughly Investigated for NATO War Crimes…

For the past few weeks Russia has been really starting to get upset over what they are finding in Libya as Russia gets back to business. It has become an appalling situation to the Russians that are finally allowed to see the carnage for themselves and unlike the Western world businessmen who “see no evil – hear no evil – and speak no evil” the Russians are not squelched by the rules that apply to the censored West…

Now the Russian government says: Russia demands a thorough investigation into the NATO operation in Libya, the Deputy Russian Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov told reporters in Moscow earlier Tuesday.

According to the official, this kind of investigation will help draw a true picture of what happened in the North African country.

The diplomat said that Russia had already called the UN Security Council attention to the consequences of NATO airstrikes.

We know of heavy civilian losses, but unfortunately the NATO leaders keep claiming the opposite, Gatilov said.

Now if there really was a true international investigation done by neutral countries. (Other words countries that did not bomb the hell out of Libya!) The findings would turn the world upside down…

It is time for a real investigation of the war crimes committed by the West in Libya. If for no other reason but to wake the world up and keep the Libya Scenario from happening again in this world…

While we are at it lets investigate all the other recent scenarios that have happened or about to happen: For right now we are working on the Iran Scenario and a Syrian Scenario. We have an ongoing Afghanistan Scenario and of course the never ending Iraq Scenario that we Americans, like to pretend is over, as we stick our head in the sand…

It is time for America to lead the world by trust, morals, peace and respect! Time for the children to put the bombs away…

Interesting Happening: Moscow needs people to leave the City Center…

This is interesting: Moscow’s government is trying to reduce the city’s internal population by about 25%. They will do this by encouraging people to move out of the city. The Mayor has promised that no one will be forced to move though if they do not want to…

On January 1, 2011, Moscow’s population was officially 11.552 million, the city has almost exhausted its resources and the pressure on its transport, environment and the social sector is too intense. So to put the city right, it is necessary to remove people from the city, especially its historical center, where 35+ percent of jobs are concentrated. With the projected growth of the Moscow population (resident and visiting) it is necessary to reduce it by 8.5-9 million people, i.e., to settle over 2.5 million Muscovite’s in the surrounding territory called the Moscow region. The capital should have no more than 1 million people (currently there is 6.3 million working in the center) with jobs, and the Moscow region create 1.5 million more jobs. Then the need to figure out how to stop the influx of visiting people for business each day needs to be addressed. The idea being floated around does not give all the details. But the prospect for the annexing of more land to Moscow in the amount of 150,000 hectares of land, between the Kiev and Warsaw highways – such towns as Klimovsk, Troitsk and Shcherbinka will be merged with Moscow…

Cup of Coffee and the Thinking for the day… (January 16th, 2012)

So this morning that cup of coffee chicory was excellent. Today is my birthday and I am not going to do a whole lot on any of the websites. At least not visible to everyone type work. Sveta and I are in the process of setting up a dedicated server and that is keeping us busy right now. From the looks of it – we may be busy a long time… 🙂

So my thought this morning over that great cup of Russian Chicory…

You know, I thought of something — After reading the comments on 90% of the websites from America over the years, it makes me think that not only is our government run by tyrannical dolts and idiots who have no respect for the constitution, but that my fellow citizens are so out of touch with reality (any reality) of what’s going on with the world as a whole today that it indicates to me that my country as I know it has an unfortunate and inescapable outcome awaiting it..

There is too much talk / not enough action, too much hate, too much pro-war, too much laughing at others faults, too many arm chair warriors, too many chiefs not enough workers, too many scared people, too many skeletons in the closet, too much immorality, too many people talking trash, too many people putting forward their narrow minded ideas before thinking about the consequences of what they’re saying, too many trolls, too many people who write before their brain functions (same as speak before you think), too many people (who have the same manners of letting the door slam in your face instead of looking to see who is behind them first) play games on the internet, too many people hide from reality online, and too many people who can not even find the countries on the map that we (Americans) are destroying in the name of democracy…

If these are my fellow citizens of America, then America is doomed to an unfortunate and inescapable outcome awaiting it..

America the Bully, forcing Irans back against the wall, for War…

America plays a game of  WWIII with Iran. America wants war with Iran. America wants to control everything Iran does. America wants a regime change in Iran. America is doing everything to keep Iran from selling oil. America wants the Central bank of Iran to collapse. America wants and America wants and America wants. America wants Iran to kiss its ass…

I seem to remember the same kinda thing happening with Japan before WWII… (Go do some searching and reading!)

Yes Oil – that mighty war starter of the world…

I listened to Russian news today and noticed that while Russia said that Iran needs to get on the band wagon over the nuclear issue. The ending of the news report was strongly pointed at America and the West: Any new sanctions or a possible strikes against Iran ‘will be perceived by international community as an attempt at changing’ Tehran’s regime, Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Gennady Gatilov stated on Saturday news report…

I have talked about these warning shots before and this is a subtle warning shot that should not be ignored. Russia is not going to play these games. Russia does have what it takes to back their warnings up…

I have also seen China wake up and they have become very serious when America just played games with a Chinese state company: US has imposed economic sanctions on a Chinese oil company for selling refined oil products to Iran as part of the American effort to pressurize Tehran over its nuclear program, official media here reported…

Now that was stupid and it was a reaction by America over the visit by Geithner recently and China told Geithner to stick it where the sun do not shine. China has what it takes to back up what they warn about also…

They should have done worse to America as we militarily tried to intimidate China recently (We failed though!) and then we ask for favors. We want China’s help against Iran… (Sick – are we not?)

We (America is) really are a screwed up country and China / Russia are starting to see that in full glory…

Russia and China both are putting the word out that there better not be any more Libyan type issues and Iran is off limits. But I know America and they will not go down without taking half the world with them, if they can, they will take the whole world with them…

Maybe just one of the thousands that read this article in America over the next few days will wake up and say, “Hey why are we doing that to other countries? Wouldn’t it be better if we just tried to get along in the world? Instead of being a bully!” Then maybe they might help spread the word about how our country treats other countries…

But I realize that makes me a bad person to want our troops home and get America out of all other countries, where we stir up trouble everyday…

PS: One thing that is happening in the world and it is real obvious to me. Is – that the democracy that is slowly developing in Russia and China is going to be vastly superior to the democracy that developed in America. But remember America has lost what they called democracy, so Russia and China will be worlds ahead of America in the future…

Dmitry Rogozin Bid Farewell to NATO and Wanted to Plant a Tree…

The escalating conflict around Iran should be contained by common effort, otherwise the promising Arab Spring will grow into a “scorching Arab Summer,” says Dmitry Rogozin, Russia’s deputy prime minister and former envoy to NATO.

“Iran is our close neighbor, just south of the Caucasus. Should anything happen to Iran, should Iran get drawn into any political or military hardships, this will be a direct threat to our national security,” stressed Rogozin.

Dmitry Rogozin, who served as Russia’s special envoy to NATO in 2008-2011, was appointed deputy prime minister by Vladimir Putin in December. On Friday he was bidding farewell to his NATO colleagues in the alliance’s headquarters in Brussels.

As for Syria, if NATO persists in interfering in its affairs, a catastrophe will be hard to avoid, said Rogozin, talking to journalists on the premises of the Russian mission to the alliance.

The example of Libya should have cooled everybody down in matters dealing with foreign civil wars,” he said, stressing that this is his personal point of view.

Syria must be left alone and the sides to the conflict must be assisted in breaking the stand-off and starting negotiations. No one must interfere with Syria. This is dangerous,” added Rogozin.

The West’s attempts to improve democracy in the Middle East and North Africa have resulted in Islamists coming to power. It is now up to the West to decide how comfortable they feel with neighbors who determine their politics with Sharia law, says Rogozin.

If we add the escalating tensions around Iran to the situation in Syria and the consequences of the Libyan war, then the upcoming ‘scorching’ Arab Summer, which is following the Arab Spring, will hardly be to anyone’s taste.”

Russia’s response will make AMD ‘a waste of money’

Despite his recent promotion, Rogozin is still in charge of Russia-NATO discussions on anti-missile defense (AMD) issues.

A legal binding that the European and American missile defense systems will not target Russia has not been taken off the table, Rogozin pointed out.

It seems strange that it is Russia who is required to show flexibility. This is not our project. If an architect is building a house, it is up to him to offer a design which would not violate property rights, area design and neighbors’ interests. So it is our US colleagues who should demonstrate miraculous flexibility to ensure that their AMD system does not violate the interests of other countries if it is to be located in Europe.

Rogozin also called on European leaders to stop being “political puppets” in the AMD game, adding that everyone should stand for their own interests, not for some “Atlantic solidarity.”

If Moscow’s position is ignored and the range of the US anti-missile defense system covers the European part of Russia, this will be considered a situation requiring defensive action.

I will certainly ensure Russia will give a corresponding technical response if the AMD system endangers our national interests. This will result in the American AMD being considered a waste of money,” said Rogozin.

Russia has everything needed to annihilate any attempt “to strip” its strategic potential, he added. This also means the era of imported weapons is coming to an end.

In a farewell gesture, Rogozin said he was considering planting a tree in the alliance’s headquarters. Symbolically enough, this would be a poplar, or “topol” in Russian, which brings up associations with Russia’s modern intercontinental ballistic missiles Topol-M.

But NATO replied that planting a tree within the headquarters perimeter “is not possible,” so the tree will have to be planted nearby.

Thinking’s about English and Writing’s and a Russian Coffee…

I find it interesting and kinda sad about people that live in the US! I received several comments (Before they got removed to help save the site!) and e-mails about our new writer from China. Everyone had nothing good to say except one English teacher. Now I find it interesting that the English teacher was tolerant but many others had intolerance…

E-mail: “I Like the addition of Paul Wen. I see we have some advanced thinkers and putting togetherers over there in the Asian Motherland. 谢谢你”

(I like how my mind worked after almost 6 years in Russia. I realized that the Chinese above was спасибо (thank you in English) in Russia and I thought that was nice. Then I realized that even though she said thank you to Paul, I translated it mentally to Russian before I considered the English word…)

I am not sure that Paul will write again, now that he was insulted by rude Americans but I will ask him kindly to come back. Yes he used a translator. Yes he struggled to present the post. Yes it was from a bigger article in China. I checked it for copy content and he rewrote it sufficiently. But most of all he believes in what it says and that is what counts to me…

I can promise that people who write for me will not be insulted. Something that Americans have little knowledge of is that the rest of the world does not run around and talk higher than mighty to everyone else. Unless they are provoked and have to defend themselves. Americans are always attacking people over their shortcomings as if that is how life is suppose to be…

I myself write how I want to and I could give a damn how you see my English and in the same token, I really care about people like Paul to have a right to express themselves in any language without harassment from the peanut gallery…

I see thousands of comments all over the Western news where people try to hurt and belittle other people over there grammar and spelling. I am amazed at the verbal attacks that are presented to degrade people and half the time the attackers are worse at grammar than the attacked…

I myself have been ruthlessly attacked because I use different words or initials than what some people think should be used. I have a good example of how people/media can be cruel and hateful: I was bidding on a contract for the food service of a private school in Georgia. This school was being started by some ladies who were teachers for black children. The school was teaching Ebonics and to say that all hell broke loose is an understatement. I got involved in the middle of a language war and all I wanted to do was feed the kids a good meal. The national media took of the bandwagon and beat on Ebonics until it was a word of disgust in everyone’s eyes in America. I myself could care less what they spoke because I taught myself to communicate with others, no matter what language they use , speak or twist the dialect. I figure that it is my responsibility to accommodate people, not the people to accommodate me. But I am sure that many people will disagree with me and say that if you speak English then you must speak English properly…

That is another interesting point: The English in Britain or the UK will look an American in the eye and tell the American that they need to lean to speak proper English. I know because I have had many tell me that I do not speak English or at least proper Queens English… 🙂
