Was asked politely to post this for a Chinese opinion column…

China has the full and undivided support of the 1.4 billion Chinese people both at home and abroad regarding the current trade war with the US!!

If President Trump does not respect China and the Chinese people, doing whatever he likes to hurt our feelings, we should likewise treat the Great President of the US as an ordinary American!! If any Chinese happen to meet him face-to-face by chance just turn our face and walk away. The Chinese people should completely ignore him. Surely, President Trump would like to be a friend of all the Chinese people and not a foe!! The choice is yours Mr President!!!!

President Xi Jinping has had written to President Trump about the current trade issues. Unfortunately the response from President Trump is “cool!!”

Let us remind the Honourable Mr Trump that the term of President of the US does not last a lifetime!! President Trump will one day be just an ordinary American walking along the street!! So if he wants the Chinese people to respect him he must earn it now!!

To the best of health of President Trump!!

Hmm…They just wanted the text posted, no links and or who sent it. I know who sent it and know that they are legit. I am seeing the Chinese getting very tired of the games, just like the Russians are…

Time to wake up people…

President of Russia Speech at Victory Day Parade – May 9th, 2019

President of Russia Vladimir Putin: Citizens of Russia, dear veterans,

Soldiers and seamen, sergeants and master sergeants, warrant officers and chief warrant officers, officers, generals and admirals,

Congratulations on Victory Day, the day of our pride and grief, our boundless gratitude to the defenders of the Fatherland who crushed Nazism.

They are all on the pedestal of the tremendous Victory. It is for this Victory that they fought and laboured, passed that self-sacrificing road of horrendous ordeals, stood up as an unbending stronghold in the fire of the battles, gave everything they could and through suffering they garnered Victory!

With every new year we come to a deeper realisation of the moral power of that unparalleled feat and the eternal value of the military triumph of our people.

It was the people who defended and saved our Motherland, became the hope and a tower of strength for the humankind, the main liberator of European nations.

Our country’s history counts a number of heroic deeds yet the victory over Nazism stands out as retribution to the Nazis for all their crimes, for thinking of themselves as a “superior race” and starting the terrible war.

This insolent force subjugated many nations, and impunity veiled the Nazis’ eyes. They thought they would also be able to conquer the Soviet Union within several weeks – the thousand-year-old historic Russia. They failed.

Yes, after the enemy’s treacherous attack on our territory we suffered defeats, retreats and heavy losses but it did not break Russia‘s spirit.

As early as July 1941, over 5 million soldiers joined the army ranks, tens of thousands of volunteers became militiamen.

Under fierce fire, hundreds of large factories were evacuated to the east, and in incredibly short time manufacturing was resumed in the Urals, in the Volga region and Siberia.

“Everything for the Victory” became the slogan of the home front. This is what marked the opening of our “second front” – the heroic labour front. Its powerful arsenal worked seamlessly.

The victory was forged by the whole nation. The garrison of the Brest tower was the first to take the sudden treacherous brunt of the invaders. The defenders of the fortress fought to the last soldier, they left writing on the citadel’s walls which still make us gasp for air. They sound like an oath and a testament to us: “I am dying but I do not surrender.”

The feats of Russian soldiers today are telling us that this charge has not been forgotten. This oath has been adopted by the current generation of defenders of the Fatherland and is the main guarantee of absolute reliability and invincibility of Russian weapons.

That is exactly what the people thought and how they acted during the Great Patriotic War, as they were fighting for their Motherland in the decisive battles for Moscow and in Stalingrad, at the Kursk Bulge and on the Dnieper River.

The victory was secured with the courage of the defenders of ancient Russian capitals of Kiev and Veliky Novgorod, the fearless defenders of Smolensk, Odessa, Sevastopol, and the infinite fortitude of the inhabitants of the besieged Leningrad.

At each bridgehead and at each military line, feats of tremendous spiritual power were accomplished, often by very young people. More than half of the Heroes of the Soviet Union were under 25.

Many went to the front straight from school and forever remained there, on the front line, never knowing the happiness of love, family, or children.

As soldiers of their country, they did not spare their lives for the sake of its freedom, peaceful future, and each of us. We will never forget their courage and self-sacrifice, and the great price paid for Victory.

We bow our heads in respect before the memory of the sons, daughters, fathers, mothers, grandfathers, husbands, wives, brothers, sisters, fellow soldiers, families and friends. We grieve for the veterans who are no longer with us.

Let us hold a minute of silence.

(A minute of silence.)

Friends,

The memory of the Great Patriotic War and the truth about it is part of our conscience and our responsibility.

Today, we see how a number of countries are deliberately distorting war events, and how those who, forgetting honour and human dignity, served the Nazis, are now being glorified, and how shamelessly they lie to their children and betray their ancestors.

Our sacred duty is to protect the real heroes. We bow to all veterans from the generation of victors. You live in different countries, but the feat that you accomplished together cannot be divided. We will always honour all of you and glorify Victory, which has always been and remains one for all of us.

Comrades,

The lessons of the past war are still relevant. We have done and will continue to do our best to ensure high combat capability of our Armed Forces, the defence potential of the most modern level, and we will continue to reinforce the prestige of military service and the standing of soldiers and officers, the defenders of the Fatherland.

At the same time, Russia is open to cooperation with everyone who is willing to resist terrorism, neo-Nazism and extremism. Collective resistance to bearers of deadly ideas has become crucial again.

We call on all the countries to become fully aware of our shared responsibility for creating an effective and equal for all security system.

Our nation is well aware of what war is. It brought grief and innumerable suffering to each family. We have not forgotten anything. We remember everything and hold sacred the valour of the soldiers of Victory. Our military parades, the thunder of fireworks and the Immortal Regiment march serve the purpose of honouring them.

Victory Day always brings together and unites all generations, and opens people’s hearts. Today, we are not hiding our emotions, and these sincere feelings are uniting Russia.

We are proud of our unity, and we are glad to have our children and grandchildren with us here, so that we can pass on to them the sacred memory of the heroic accomplishments of our fathers and grandfathers and be confident that their feats and their victories will live forever.

Glory to the victorious nation!

Happy holiday to you!

Happy Victory Day!

Hooray!

TASS: Society & Culture – Over 10 mln people join Immortal Regiment marches in Russia

MOSCOW, May 9. /TASS/. More than ten million people have taken part in the Immortal Regiment marches across Russia, Interior Ministry Spokeswoman Irina Volk told TASS on Thursday.”

More than ten million people have participated in the event across the country,” she said.In 2018, the ‘Immortal Regiment’ marches brought together the same number of ten million people.

The ‘Immortal Regiment’ march is an annual event held throughout Russia and in other countries on May 9. The event is dedicated to victory in the Great Patriotic War (as WWII is called in Russia) that claimed lives of about 28 million Soviet people, both soldiers and civilians. During the march, people carry portraits of their relatives who fought or died during the war.

The idea was born in the Russian Siberian city of Tyumen in 2007 when the march was called the Victors’ Parade. In 2012, another Siberian city of Tomsk picked up the torch renaming the rally as ‘Immortal Regiment.’ The next year, about 120 cities joined in. A year later, people carried portraits of their relatives, who fought during WWII, in 500 cities in seven countries. Since 2015, the ‘Immortal Regiment’ march has officially become a nationwide event.

North Korean coal barges are a direct threat to American sovereignty

We (Americans) have much to fear from a NK coal barge…

U.S. authorities have seized a North Korean ship allegedly used to sell coal in violation of international sanctions, the first such move by Justice Department officials as they ratchet up enforcement efforts against the regime in Pyongyang. Justice Department officials Thursday confirmed that the vessel, the Wise Honest, was approaching U.S. territorial waters in American Samoa, in coordination with the U.S. Marshals Service and the Coast Guard. “This sanctions-busting ship is now out of service,” As

We proudly proclaim, “This sanctions-busting ship is now out of service.”

Just some thoughts about things in Russia…

Sveta and I will get to the Tiny Russian Village soon and we will move all my stuff from Sveta’s mothers home to our new village home across the street. I also have a new radiator to install in Sammy the Volga and a clutch master cylinder. I also have drawn out and will build my own set of shackles for the rear leaf springs on Sammy. Then I will wax Sammy so that she looks brand new…

We got a call yesterday from Vova and he told us that he had a slight stroke. He just got out of the hospital after a week or so and is on medication and still being watched over. We told him that we are coming soon….when I get there I will spend sometime with him and see what I think about his condition. If I need to I will spend the summer in the Tiny Russian Village and ad lib daily as to him and his issues. Vova is a very heavy drinker and smoker, I hope that this will get him to get things under control…

I am worried about Vova for he is my Russian Buddy. He is like me in that he tells no one when he is in the hospital. makes it hard to go and see if he needs anything. But he is home and doing okay, he says? Slurring words a tiny bit due to the slight stroke…

Our new Village Home is gonna be nice. It is fully furnished and all of Nikolai’s woodworking tools have been given to me. Tools that come from his time working for the school and his carpenter days. Nikolai was a carpenter by trade. He learned his trade at the original school at the Tiny Russian Village. It was a school mainly for Deaf and Dumb, but it also had other kids with issues and it seems that Nikolai must of had some type of qualifying issue…???

He told me once about how he climbed the bell tower from the outside as a little kid. He said that he got in so much trouble…. 😉 As I knew Nikolai as a good friend, I could see that he would have been an ornery monkey as a kid. I was also and still am at times….he said he climbed all the way to the very top of the bell tower steeple and was hanging onto the cross. He could see forever. I remember the look in his eyes as he told me. He was seeing the whole valley again as he talked…

So we have inherited tons of wood for building furniture and stuff, unbelievable hand tools from the old Soviet days, a home, a barn, multiple sheds, land and everything that was Nikolai’s sisters stuff and his families…

It is strange; I am the same person whom I am and was in America. My family hates me. They never could accept me as a human and as someone who has ideas and abilities. I never toed the line and I never kissed ass. I am the same person here in Russia, it is just that I am much more like Russians than Americans…

My family went crazy when my grandparents died. They split everything up and got lawyers to keep me from even knowing what everyone got. They ascended upon my grandparents things like vultures. They even did not tell me when they died until a day late and a dollar short…

I remember that there was a safe and they could not even wait to open it. I swear that they were going to blow the door off the safe. There were items of my grandma’s and grandpa’s that I was/should get. I never got them, my sister received all that she was to get and the rest of the family did also. I had a court injunction to stop me from knowing anything and since I was always poor, I could not fight it… (By the way: The safe was empty!)

My family for the most part is very rich. I have two uncles that each were worth and their kids are now worth hundreds of millions of dollars. My mother n sister have slid into that life and kiss the rich families asses. I am happy for them, I am to much like my dad; I will stand on my own two feet…

I guess what I am say this for is that, I came to Russia and found family, friends and a life. A man who I met in a Tiny Russian Village has been instrumental in Sveta and I getting a place of our own in the village…

I want to make sure that I take care of all he left behind and when my time to go comes, I want to make sure someone who is worthy gets it all…

Sveta loves me as family and the Russians I know, seem sincere and care for me as I am. That is one thing about Russians they accept people as they are…

Have a nice day…

Thursday, May 9 -Victory Day 2019 in Russia…

How to take part in the action “Immortal Regiment” in Korolev, May 9, 2019

The correspondent of “RIAMO in Korolev” found out how the citizens to join the memorable procession, which will be held on May 9, 2019.

The above is serious business in Russia…

The world I came from has no idea about the extent of the effect of WW2 upon the people. I know that Europe knows about this effect, but my world in the Americas has no idea and no understanding about the death and destruction of a war upon her people…

Russians still have a bunch of people who remember the terrible times…

Svetochka has gone to her mothers to spend the next few days with her. This is very important for both Sveta and her mother. They watch the parade together and they enjoy the activities that all cities partake in…

This is the part of being Russian that a person like me from the USA cannot totally fathom. We did not grow up, even the ones in WW2 where late to the death party compared to Russians and the rest of Europe. We Americans just do not get it…

I watch it and I see it and I finally understand it, but I do not partake in it. I am lucky, my soul, while torn to pieces by other worthless and wasteful wars and such, does not have to deal with the total attempt at annihilation of life during WW2 in Europe…

Sveta’s mother lived through WW2 and all that happened to Mother Russia…

Therefore, I watch and listen and learn…

All these years and country’s still mourn the ungodly mass of deaths caused by World Wars that never had to be fought in the first place…

Svetochka Sunday: Vinni Puh, Could Visit You Too!

Hello,

Years ago we published a cartoon about Vinni Puh. (Russian version of Winnie the Pooh) During the past, we discussed how it’s difficult to translate Vinni Puh in English.

We translated some expressions from the cartoon and now we tried to translate the Vinni Puh song. (not exact translation more transition of the mood ;)):

In the 1st video, Vinni Puh sang this song: (Link)

If I scratch my head – It’s OK.
I have sawdust there And that is great!

In my head I have sawdust! But; I can compose:
My happy-songs, my noisy-songs, my puff-puff-songs, want-wishing-songs.

Vinni Puh lives so good in the woods.
That’s because he compose his funny songs.

Does not matter what he’s doing, if he does not loose his weight,
and he never loose his weight if he has his snack in time.

This time we can have rest because we found a version with English subtitles. I think the guys, Artem, Lesha & Co have done very good job! They translated just the second part but are going to translate all three. I’ve read in one forum that they appreciate any help with translation – their e-mail in subtitles.

So now we will watch and enjoy.

Would you want Vinny to visit you?

Best wishes,

Svet and Kyle

Just another day for us in Russia… (Another Ticket)

I am amazed at the people that do not understand that I live, walk, breath, ride bikes, drive and get irritated in everyday life in Russia. So many so called Russian journalists and so called Russian experts, have never rubbed shoulders daily with Russians. In fact many of them never leave their high rises and or limousine as they get around from expat place to expat place…

Well I got another ticket…

First ticket was many years ago and I did not wear my seat belt…
Second ticket was for speeding…

Now I got a ticket (First image in gallery) for crossing a road with a red walk light…

Yes I am a criminal and most likely will always be a criminal for these type of offenses. I just hate being told what to do all the time and I kinda rebel at times and speed, walk illegally and get grouchy in general with everyone…

But I am not a hooligan… 😉

Just a three time offense criminal…

Svetochka and I rode about 33 kilometers yesterday and maybe twenty the day before. We are starting to get ready to take a long bike trip. Our bikes are about ready. We have lights, tools and even spare tires and patches…

We even have a set of saddlebags for my bike to carry our long distance stuff…

First though we need to go to the Tiny Russian Village and make a list of what to do there…

Sveta and I love to travel along the water supply path that starts way up north of Moscow and runs into Moscow itself. This is one of the several huge water supply canals/pipes and or combination of the two. It is well guarded and heavily fenced. But the road that runs next to it is nice and people from all over love to ride bikes on it….interesting tidbit; yesterday we evidently rode near a special area of dachas that Stalin used during his era. You could see that it was still well secured and guarded…

I included a snapshot of my ticket…

It is strange when I read stuff in the media from so called Russian experts and nothing that they write is true. But then it is hard to write truth, when you write from an ivory tower downtown Moscow and get paid big bucks to do it and lie about what you see and hear in Moscow…

Oh and if I was rich, I would take the ticket and get it overturned. I know Russian law and how they trapped me and Sveta would not fly in a Russian court. But the ticket is 800 rubles, but if I would pay it within twenty days, it will be 400 rubles 🙂 and if I had slipped them some sneaky money with my passport, it would have been about 100 rubles…

Next thing, Svetochka did not get a ticket….she did not have her ID and so she got off scot-free, as did anyone with no ID and or paid a few bucks. One guy was run down on his bike and he slipped a few rubles to the officer. One old guy (older than me) had his ID wrapped with one hundred rubles. These are rare bad cops in out town and I suspect soon they will be getting in trouble after they try their crap with the wrong Russian with friends…

I was use to paying a bribe in America, either that or spend the night in a local jail to see the local magistrate, but in Russia I will not, it can get me kicked (deported) out of the country and I will take the ticket thank you….bribery is serious stuff around here and that is why I say, “Their day is coming!”

Therefore, I was not a happy camper to say the least. I am never happy being caught being a bad bear…

It is much more fun being a bad bear and not getting caught…
