The “Snowden Revelations” are 10% Posted and the fun is to come…

importantI was sipping that wonderful cup of coffee and it hit me as I started the second cup of java. The USA government has allowed Pandora’s box to be opened and by the time all the contents leak out… (I will let you think about that a second!)

MOSCOW: US officials told The Washington Post that Snowden leaked documents indicating massive intelligence gathering efforts against sometimes hostile countries, including China, Russia and Iran. Those files contain evidence linking other countries, ones that may want to keep their cooperation with the US quiet, to such data collection. Other countries’ military capabilities – details on weapons, missiles, ships and jets, among others – are included in the information in question, not surveillance. This news comes after the NSA was accused of secretly monitoring sympathetic leaders, among them German Chancellor Angela Merkel, whose personal phone may have been tapped. As such, US intelligence has struggled in recent weeks to keep allies happy while keeping operations that rely on allies in motion.

At first it was like: Snowden stole thousands of documents. Lately they have been saying that he got 30,000 to 50,000 documents. Now they are saying that they are not sure and he may have hundreds of thousands of documents and or more…

The NSA documents have hardly been posted yet and we have many years of fun coming. I said this from the beginning and people scoffed at me. These documents are being posted in a slow boil method. Every document pisses off another country and when everyone is pissed off then the icing on the cake will start. Think about it…

I do know that the phone calls are being made to all countries and crash control is in the works, but the problem is that no one knows what document he really has and how bad is the damage. America is in a real “Damned if I do and Damned if I don’t” situation and they have no one to blame but themselves. Asses always get it in the end…

The documents are being released a little at a time and in an order of increasing magnitude. Other words the worthless stuff first and the humdingers at the end…

Kinda like saying, “I got an A in math and a B in history, but I flunked everything else!”

A few days ago the Chinese said, “It is perhaps a good time for the befuddled world to start considering building a de-Americanized world.”

From my seat in the world, which is located outside of the media suppressed America. I see serious issues and these issues are only going to grow in time as more “Snowden Revelations” are posted and released…

Even a lapdog will bite if abused enough and the one thing that the U.S. has done is abuse many many other countries in many many ways…

America’s Threat-Centric Education System: Out of Date and Out of Time by John Stanton

History is a story. That’s why we fight over history. We make sense of ourselves, the world and ourselves in the world through the struggle to tell the truth through stories. Facts have to be contextualized to become the truth. And that truth is a struggle that is constantly fought over. It is not given. And telling stories helps to create debate about that truth. That is why working people should tell their stories. Truth is a class issue. I would appeal to all your readers, especially to young ones, to make their own political films; shoot interviews, especially with older comrades, and dare to express themselves on the screen. Film making is for everybody. I would be looking at the new technologies. They are disruptive and a problem in capitalist society…That’s why they want to close down the Internet if they can. Politicians don’t like allowing people to communicate anonymously with each other. They want to restrain freedom … But still for a while there is a window of opportunity and freedom. They monitor you, but don’t yet stop you. That will come, of course…[But] it’s where people ought to be, where creative people and political people ought to be.” Tony Garnett interviewed by the editors of WSWS

How can young people be encouraged and coached to narrate a “true” history of their lives and times in the world—and the events, people and geography that influence them—for the bulk of their literate existence (i.e., 21st Century literate to include visual and technological literacy)? How can they be motivated to bypass the standard historical corporate media sanctioned fare of Steven Ambrose, Doris Kearns-Goodwin or David McCullough? How can they be motivated to collaborate and push against forces that seek to program them to accept “austerity” and “it is what it is”? How can America’s threat-centric, industrial education system be changed?

The answer to those questions is in the hands of many in America’s legacy generation who have sickened on the state of American education, now a mish-mash of public, private and charter schools each on its own divergent mission. They clap and cheer at the latest TED speech, or adopt a fad like 1-to-1 learning, but that’s where their concern for actually coaching, facilitating and teaching Americans ends. Their safety-in-silence stance has allowed provincial interests (money, pseudo-intellectuals) to trump the needs of the generations-after-next, generations that require interconnected, non-stovepipe interdisciplinary studies from the moment they long on to the Internet or set foot in a brick and mortar setting. More’s the pity. These legacy educators who dominate policy and curriculum development from kindergarten, college and professional education fear the diffusion of their own power with academic departments, school districts, unions and ivory towers.

Surely there must be some evolutionary/revolutionary minds that remain in the legacy generation that created the educational mayhem that exists in the USA. If they exist, they owe it to new generations to begin the process of opening fronts and building barricades.

One front would include the destruction of the industrial education practices that dominate in America. Assembly-line educational practices that segment into K-8, 9-12, 13-16, 17+ must be eliminated. For example, at the K-12 level, common campus settings that allow older students to interact closely with younger students should be the norm. The notion that “I am a senior and you are just a freshman,” needs to go away. This is training for corporation management, not mentoring/teaching. Another front would see the destruction of non-interdisciplinary studies. Humanities and the Sciences, integrated and competently taught, would provide a far more dynamic learning environment for students who government and industry typically malign. A barricade around the Internet and World Wide Web must be built before dominant corporations, politicians, academics and technocrats manage to kill the flow of uncensored information undercuts their power.

Proposed national education standards such as the Common Core Standards supported by President Obama (and Bill Gates) or those represented in the No Child Left Behind Act (President Bush) are nonsensical in a world where both global corporations and the US national security community are, themselves, asking for people who can act and think across time, place and culture. Teaching to a multiple choice test in these times is about as relevant as an IBM punch card. For what purpose is a fact without context and framing?

US Military as Leader in Education: No One has a Better Idea

Standardized testing administered by the American College Board/ETS (SAT) and its rival the ACT must, at some point, be abolished. The genesis of the SAT dates back to World War I and the US Military’s need to develop standardized testing to rapidly assess skill-sets necessary for Anglo Saxon war fighting abilities: flying, killing, repairing and commanding.

The first official SAT was administered in 1926, according to War Play by Colin Mead (Eamon Dolan, 2013). Eugenicists would use the results of those 1926 tests to cast out Blacks, Asians, Women and assorted White Trash from participating fully in American society. Equally damaging was the near full adoption by America’s education leaders–from universities to local school houses–of US military standards of scientific education.

The public and private educators of yesteryear had nothing to offer in place of war and threat based education. The nation was on a mission to conquer all foes. Diverging from that mission was, for many, suicide. Indeed, as Mead reports, such educational and technology transfer from the US military to the population at large was inevitable. World War I, World War II, the Cold War and the War on Terrorism focused all of America’s instruments of national power (diplomatic, information, military, economic, financial, law enforcement, intelligence and people) on the goals and objectives necessary to counter or destroy the threat of the day. That included inoculating American minds from the evils of “foreign” thinking. Thus trillions of US dollars were made available to any group or individual who could contribute to the war effort.

And for the most part, over the past 100 years or so the national security based education system has worked out for Americans and, arguably, much of the world. The common core standard running through American educational practice during this time has been threat-centric: a constant threat to America’s collective and individual existence, real or imagined, exists and there is a sense of urgency to defeat that threat through education and technology. Even America’s instruments of national power are based on threat-centric thinking. In this view the world is trying to take something from every American even though, in reality, Americans have everything the world does not currently have.

The United States remains ascendant today because of, not in spite of, past educational practices that were heavily influenced, if not created, by America’s national security enterprise. And there is not a field of study untouched by the US national security machinery. Computer science, telecommunications, anthropology, political science, space science, entertainment, physics, literature and medical practices all owe their beginnings or prosperity to the Department of Defense. This worked for a time.

Bullshit Centric Country: The United States of America

America’s threat-centric education paradigm—these days dangerously close to paranoia– can’t be allowed to survive. Recent revelations of the extent of American penetration into the thoughts and dreams of the world—and its own citizens (via the National Security Agency) demonstrate just how out of sync America is with the world and how close its government mirrors the practices of the once feared Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.

It took a long time but the world, and American citizens, have recently learned just how totalitarian the United State happens to have been and is now. There was a time when corporations and government officials would claim that they could not compete with foreign corporations because of subsidizes provided to them by their own governments. It was all BS of course. Thanks to the NSA–and its collusion with American companies–Americans had access to the bid cost/price, marketing tactics and even a foreign government’s support strategy for a particular product.

There is a laundry list of American historical bullshit: Some gems include “we do not torture,” “in god we trust,” “we have no more important goal than the protection of the American people,” “we want to compete in a free and fair market,” “we care about the middle class,” “our atomic bombs broke the back of the Japanese,” “we must protect ourselves from cyber-security attacks because we are under threat,” “we hold our officials accountable,” “Google and Verizon value your privacy), “your vote matters”, and “we take care of our women and men in uniform.”

Secretary of State John Kerry once said that the Internet makes it difficult to govern. Damn straight it should! Without bright, interdisciplinary minds and the Internet and World Wide Web (created by the American defense community and US, British and French scientists/researchers) American government, corporate and academic leaders would have us all believe that they are the “true” champions of freedom. Nothing is further from the truth. Cross disciplinary minds, the Internet and the World Wide Web are the only tools available to counter the false and damaging historical narrative that exists and the one that will surely come in the future if American leaders have their way.

Makes you sick to see people hurt by sick idiots…

A video released by the Investigative Committee in Russia shows the moment of the deadly blast in the Volgograd bus on Monday recorded by a dash-cam in a car following the vehicle. The footage shows the bus traveling along the road when the bomb rips through the right side of the vehicle. The bus stops and after a couple of seconds people start leaping out of the windows or doors of the stricken bus while smoke clouds from the explosion dissipate. With the debris strewn all across the road the cars behind the bus come to a standstill with the drivers emerging from their vehicles in a state of shock…

Suicide bombers are very, very and very sick individuals…

The Winds are Changing: 85 Billion Dollar Oil Deal…

rosneft-china-sinopec-oil.siRosneft will export oil through China’s Sinopec in a 100 million ton oil supply deal. This is on the heels of a Rosneft and China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) $270 billion contract over 25 years at the St.Petersburg Economic forum in June, 2013…

I have numerous articles talking about the shifting of oil and gas trade to the east by Russia. This is a long term plan that has to be done due to the financial collapse happening in the west. The pain is already being felt in Europe and when the fracking charade is exposed in America, the system will start collapsing at a fast pace…

It has been one of the interesting issues that I have watched from the Window out of Russia as I have lived here in Russia for over 7 years. The winds of power are shifting in the world and no one has anyone to blame but the west themselves. Trust in the west is gone and it is time to watch as the wind blows in swirls, as it tries to find where the new world powers will be…

Iran gives indigenous ScanEagle drone to Russia

scaneagleA senior Iranian commander says Iran gave Russia one of its indigenous ScanEagle unmanned aerial vehicles as a sign of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

Commander of the Aerospace Division of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Brigadier General Amirali Hajizadeh presented the drone to the visiting Russian Air Force Commander-in-Chief, Lieutenant General Viktor Nikolaevich Bondarev, on Monday.

“The ScanEagle drone produced by the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps is the symbol of some of Iran’s technical capabilities,” Hajizadeh said.

On December 17, 2012, the IRGC Navy Commander Rear Admiral Ali Fadavi said Iran had launched the production line of ScanEagle drones and that the IRGC Naval and Aerospace Division had been employing the UAVs.

In February 2013, Iran for the first time released images of the production line of a UAV which is a copy of the US ScanEagle drone.

The images were publicized after Iran released decoded video recordings obtained from a US RQ-170 Sentinel stealth drone downed and captured by the Islamic Republic on December 4, 2011.

The US RQ-170 Sentinel stealth aircraft was downed by the Iranian Army’s electronic warfare unit while flying over the Iranian city of Kashmar, some 140 miles (225 km) from the Afghan border.

The senior Russian commander hailed the capabilities of the IRGC and said it had succeeded in making great achievements.

Bondarev arrived in Iran on Sunday for a four-day visit at the invitation of Brigadier General Hassan Shah-Safi, the commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force (IRIAF). The Russian commander is to hold talks with senior Iranian military officials.

In January, Iran and Russia signed a memorandum of understanding to increase security cooperation between the two countries when Russian Interior Minister Vladimir Alexandrovich Kolokoltsev visited the Islamic Republic.

European Austerity Hits America: Time to Suffer by John Stanton

The Government will neither propose nor implement measures which may infringe the rules on the free movement of capital. Neither the State nor other public bodies will conclude shareholder agreements with the intention or effect of hindering the free movement of capital or influence the management or control of companies. The Government will neither initiate nor introduce any voting or acquisition caps, and it will not establish any disproportionate and non-justifiable veto rights or any other form of special rights in privatized companies. No further special rights will be introduced in the course of future privatization projects.” Memorandum of Understanding on Specific Economic Policy Conditionality, 9 February 2012, EU and Greece

Due to the high economic financialization, more than half of the profits in the real economy come from the returns of financial activities. If we exclude the factor of virtual economy, the U.S. actual GDP is about 5 trillion U.S. dollars in 2009, per capita GDP about $ 15,000.” Dagong, Surveillance Report for Sovereign Credit Rating of the United States of America.

“Game Over”, so to speak. The dark times are here in America. You are on your own. The federal-state-local governments are broke. No more benefits for hungry children, homeless veterans and civilians. No more full-time employment with benefit packages. Stagnating wages and income inequality are the norm. But Hey! Let’s cut taxes.

Austerity means that Capital will now be allowed to flow uninhibited through the United States of America. National Parks and forests will be privatized or sold off to financiers. America’s national museums—normally offered free of charge to the public—will be privatized and admission fees instituted. Public schools are for sale. Art is for sale. People are for sale. The infrastructure is for sale.

Just take a look at the plight of Detroit, Michigan right here in the good old USA. You are looking at the future of America.

Like the Locusts described in the Bible, Capitalist Locusts will rape and pillage the United States. They will rejoice in the suffering of the nation. “Then from the smoke came locusts on the earth and they were given power like the power of scorpions of the earth…They were allowed to torment them for five months, but not to kill them, and their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it stings someone. And in those days people will seek death and will not find it. They will long to die, but death will flee from them.” (Revelation 9:3-10)

There is a bright side though. Since most Americans will be stripped of tax breaks or benefit and denied wage increases they will soon be competitive with low wage workers in Asia and South America. Americans with a steady job and a full health insurance benefits—normally defined as the Middle Class—are fearful of monetary ruin and homelessness. This state of fear is compounded by a broad, anxiety ridden American national security consciousness. The bargain made by Americans with their government over the past 12 war-years goes something like this: “Alright, I will sacrifice some of my rights enshrined in the US Constitution and Bill of Rights if you—US, State and Local government/corporate contractors—can guarantee my security.”

US, State and Local governments are a sham. They and their corporate/private contractors who run the national/economic security machinery are not able to hold their part of the liberty-for-security bargain. Sandy Hook, the Boston Marathon Bombings, and 16,000 homicides a year testify to that. In this dark American environment, as in much of Europe, this question needs to be asked, “Isn’t selling off social programs, cutting wages, robbing pensions, shutting down government programs to help children a form of terrorism?”

Last Gasps: Social Security

One of the most sinister pieces of propaganda floating through the mainstream media is that the US Social Security System is insolvent and needs to be privatized. The destruction of the one program that remains the strongest social contract between the young and old in America is about to be offered up for sacrifice by US President Obama and like-minded Democrats/Republicans in the US Congress. To paraphrase a line from Total Recall, “Your life is just a dream.” And from The Who’s Quadrophenia, “We are the slaves of the phony leaders, breathe the air they have blown you.”

As William Greider put it back in 2009, ““Targeting Social Security is a smokescreen designed to reassure foreign creditors and avoid confronting the true sources of US indebtedness. The politicians might instead address the cost of fighting two wars on borrowed money or the tax cuts for the rich and corporations or the deregulation that led to the recent financial catastrophe and destroyed vast wealth. But those and other sources of deficits involve very powerful interests…Social Security has accumulated a massive surplus—$2.5 trillion now, rising to $4.3 trillion by 2023. This vast wealth was collected over many years from workers under the Federal Insurance Contributions Act to pay in advance for baby boom retirements. The money will cover all benefits until the 2040s—unless Congress double-crosses workers by changing the rules. This nest egg does not belong to the government; it belongs to the people who paid for it. FICA is not a tax but involuntary savings.”

But the US government has been borrowing from the Social Security funds to pay down debt and fund other programs like US military action in Afghanistan, Iraq and elsewhere. Now, of course, they do not want to pay it back as that would require finding a few trillion dollars to dump back into the social security system. America has paid a hefty price for its wars in lives and treasure.

Sacrificing Social Security has been part of Obama’s game plan all along. As the partial government shutdown of 2013 continues, Greider’s comments back in 2009 are right on the mark. “Barack Obama is again playing coy in public, but his intentions are widely understood among Washington insiders. The president intends to offer Social Security as a sacrificial lamb to entice conservative deficit hawks into a grand bipartisan compromise in which Democrats agree to cut Social Security benefits for future retirees while Republicans accede to significant tax increases to reduce government red ink.”

Golly Gee: Time to walk away for awhile and post from a far away beach…

indexNo I am not telling you where we are going! That has proved stupid of me in the past and with all the crap the American government is doing to the American people. I think the less that my government knows that I am doing the best for me and Sveta…

So I will be walking the beaches with my sweetie and we will be soaking up the sun rays. For winter is here in Russia and we need to re-energize to get ready for a long winter. Why, you know it is cold when you have on a winter coat, long underwear, gloves, hats and boots. It rains almost everyday and freezes at night now. Meanwhile last night all the cars in the parking area, were covered with white with frost…

We are looking forward to the fantastic food, the warm water and the wonderful people of a different culture. Traveling this time of the year is perfect…

See you next week after we settle in somewhere…

Russia is watching America, just like the rest of the world is also…

changeI am finding it interesting that the world is sitting back and watching America implode. No one is really happy about it, but no one can do anything about it either. It is kind of like a person getting ready to commit suicide on a bridge. The bridge is high above the canyon and the tiny river below is pretty shallow. You will hit like a rock and explode like a ripe watermelon…

Is it that Change is that scary?

You are screaming, “I will jump! I will jump! I mean it!” as you hang on by one little finger to the guard rail…

In this particular case the world who has been trying to talk the suicide country down from the bridge and get things under control has really very few options and tricks to save this country. All that can be done is too watch and wait. Does the country have enough gumption to get her act together or will she just finally plunge into the tiny stream below and whats left will wash out to the sea?

The world shakes her head and thinks, “How can a country that has spouted for years about her greatness and importance, find herself in this predicament?”

Oh do not get me wrong the world has a whole bunch of problems and we all have lots of room to spare, when it comes to toeing the line and becoming good countries and people, but after the last years since the fall of the Soviet Union. America has “Tooted Her Horn” like she is “The Cat’s Meow!” and this has caused a few countries that just may have tried harder to help more, but they don’t see the need to help a braggart and a hater…

Little side note on world problems: Why look at Japan and you will see a country that is doing much worse than America. Worse debt and they have a melted down reactor (maybe two reactors) burning a hole to the center of the earth and we in the west accept that with open arms. Heaven forbid if Russia had a melt down like that. We never would hear the end of it out of the western news. That is what I mean about change and growing up to work with the whole world and not just part of that world. The part we care about. The whole world is one world and we need to work together to save this one world we have…

It is a good and bad world and many countries have extended olive leaves to the USA and had the US slap them up aside the head with those branches. Why even Iran extends the peace branch, even after it has been abused so many times by the US administration…

So we are watching and I am watching as an American from the outside. Here in Russia the people are curious and quiet about what is happening in America. They in Russia have enough problems without a country like America playing games and trying to undermine the Kremlin, all the while Washington DC is crumbling like a house of cards in a wind storm. This kind of actions against countries like Russia, does not create goodwill toward men and all that fancy stuff…

I have had six heart attacks, I had a total of six stents and I am still alive. I have the ability, after going through this to see others having that issue and in this case, even a country like America. It is real obvious that the US government has clogged arteries and has definitely had several heart attacks. We need to get the US on nitro quick or she will cease to function in an appropriate manner before long. Like me, the USA can keep going and she can still be tough and strong. It is just that we have to understand our limitations and make sure we take our “Plavix” if required to keep the arteries flowing…

Nothing in this world is forever, we all grow old and we all grow weak. I have learned the hard way and I see that America is learning the hard way, but can it change?

I made changes and adapted my life and style to something different. It does not matter if it was the best choice or way to do it. It does matter though that I accepted my limitations and did what had to be done to survive…

Can we do what needs to be done to survive or are we going to march off the cliff spouting that, “We are number 1! We are number 1! We are number 1!”

The last step is a long ways to the bottom and it hurts when you hit. I know…

We need the world right now much more than it needs us and we need to change, before we go much farther…

Winter is here in Moscow, Russia…

beachTwo days in a row it has snowed. Now, it is not snowing and sticking yet, but it is snowing and blowing and cold. It looks like officially it has snowed 4 times already, but summer keeps fighting back as winter tries to take over and autumn got lost on the way to the market… 🙂

Actually I never really saw spring this year and I think it got stuck in the winter mud!

So as I sip that wonderful cup of coffee this morning and contemplate a second cup in this siege of winter weather. I let my thoughts wander to the fact that Sveta wants to go to warmer climates for a couple of weeks. Looks like we need to leave this weekend and enjoy the beaches of a faraway middle eastern country. It really is the best time of the year to go. The seas are still warm enough to swim, the temperature has lowered from broiling hot to just hot and we get to see a real end of summer. (Unlike a Moscow end of summer!)

I guess maybe next week I will be writing Windows to Russia from a beach hotel in the Middle East. Sounds hot to me, but Sveta will be all smiles as she does pool aerobics and dances on the beaches of sand…

Now that is what makes life perfect, a happy girl…

It is Official: 4000 posts on Windows to Russia…

kyle-bearWindows to Russia hit 4000 posts a long time ago, but due to the relentless attacks and destruction of the site by the TSA and DHS in America. Windows to Russia lost a bunch of data…

That has all but ended and I am thankful to my hosting company at 1984hosting in Iceland. They have filtered the bad and left me with mostly the good sites. It hurts on traffic, but it is worth it…

So 4500+ posts is more the truth, but I will go by the actual count that I can verify through the WordPress system. I have 3999 post as I write this article. This article makes 4000…

I lost a lot of data from the original Blogger/Google censorship to the DHS and TSA DDoS attacks. I complained, bitched and fought and while I never won, I battled them to a stalemate and for the last few years, that is where it has stayed…

Everyday I see more and more sites complaining about the censoring of the internet system by America. More and more people and sites are finding themselves being crushed and blocked. I was and am not alone in the attacks that came from the DHS and TSA. These attacks just about took Windows to Russia down for good and if I had not found the safe haven in Iceland, the site would be history…

Maybe you do not care and maybe it is not high on your list that sites all over the world are being attacked and censored by the US government, but it is high on my list and when Russia and China are much easier to deal with internet wise, then you know that America has gone to the dogs…

Say what you want and slam me and my site, but I am still here! I am still in Russia and I am still happy in Russia. I still write on Windows to Russia and I still drink my cup of coffee and tell you what I think. The death threats and hate letters still come in groves and it makes me wonder how long a sick society like America has become, will survive?
