That my friends, is what we are having at Windows to Russia – 5 or 6 times a day. It is swift and effective. So with that cup of coffee this morning I am doing some heavy research into what to do to try to ease the destruction of an attack. It seems that nothing will stop them completely and it is really all centered on how strong are your resources and how many machines are involved in the attacks. I am slowly getting a feel for this VPS server thing and we are now getting IP’s and blocking them as they attack. I also have set up a half a dozen things to get in the way and stop attacks. Firewall on a server is necessary…

One reason I am writing this post is to let my readers know that I am shutting doors all over the server that bots and such use to try to get in. If I shut the doors to tight, I need people to e-mail me and let me know that they can not use my site very well. You may find things such as you get blocked if you surf the website too fast. But if you are reading then that is not a problem because you will not be moving too fast between pages. I do not expect you to have an issue now, but as I experiment with news techniques I foresee a few mistakes on my part and a little over zealous screw tightening… 🙂

It is a sad thing that I have to do these things, but several organizations in America are seriously trying to destroy Windows to Russia and since I am not a rich boy who has limited-less money. I have to do 90% of everything on my own with my little sweeties help when she can…

So I do not expect that I will be able to stop it completely, but I am slapping back and pissing a few attackers back home off. Then as they increase their attack I increase my knowledge and ability to counter them. I also need anyone who is an expert to contact me about this issue. I can use some pointers on what to do…

The site has switched between servers about 6 times in the last day. But it is staying one line most of the time. At one point I had some sites on one server and some on another. That way it spread the attacks over a wider base. It is interesting to watch this happening and we are able now to track the culprits down. Strange how they do not even try to cover their tracks by spoofing. They want me to know who it is. It won’t do any good to complain because it comes right out of our own little tiny sweet government in America. I also have a Florida attacker that is making a habit out of all this. It is easy to attack me in Russia because I have no way to get back at anyone legally, but the way America is becoming, it does not matter, because you don’t have any legal recourse either anymore if they crash your website…

So thanks to the readers that are stopping by everyday and if you find us offline, come back because I am working on it and we will be back online as quick as I can get the DoS attack stopped. Many times my being offline is to break the attack. Other words I intentionally block Windows to Russia to upset the attack. It works and downtime is marginalized…

Next time Windows to Russia is offline: Remember who is trying to destroy this site. This is a fact and I have tons of proof where all these attacks are coming from. This is not a game to me. This is a very important project that I do and I believe strongly in Windows to Russia. Strong enough that we spend way excess money, over what it brings in, to keep it online. It is the principle of the matter and the fact that a country that sings songs of freedom, expressions of freedom and promotion of freedom really is not free at all. that is what you should be thinking about every time Windows to Russia gets attacked by the government and knocked offline…

Every time I print another article they do not like, the attacks increase. If I quit – then they win. If I give up – they win. If I shut up – they win. If I go away – they win. So I will post even if the site is crippled as long as the post gets out, as it does some of the time. I have two extra writers now and need several more. I am sure to get slaughtered today because I will post a very good article about Ron Paul from Nadir Mir the Brigadier General of Pakistan. That will get me knocked offline for sure… 🙂

Even giants such as Microsoft have fallen victim to the DDoS attack. Generally, it’s a good idea to not make many enemies – (Okay!) and keep a sharp watch on your network at all times. And in the event that you do track an attacker down, keep two things in mind. First, it may be a spoofed IP address, and thus, a false lead. Second, never attack back. Simply contact the authorities and wait for the justice system to do its work… Okay?

Police seized 227 firearms, thousands of rounds of ammunition and several kilograms of explosives at airports around Russia in 2011, a spokesperson for the Russian transport police said on Monday.

Russia has tightened security measures at airports and railway stations following a terrorist attack at the Domodedovo airport near Moscow in January 2011 which killed 37 and injured 120 people.

“During passenger preflight checks at Russian airports last year, transport police seized five kilograms of explosives, 227 firearms, more than 1,100 knives and over 78,500 rounds of ammunition,” Yelena Kolomeytseva said.

The Russian government allocated over 1.5 billion rubles ($5 mln) last year on improving security at transportation facilities around the country.

Part of the funds has been spent on the purchase of advanced video-monitoring equipment and metal detectors.

The new equipment helped police track and arrest wanted 159 criminals and prevented 165 attempts to carry highly flammable materials onto aircraft last year, Kolomeytseva said.

Could you imagine if in the US, the TSA found this kind of stuff? Your life would be more than just a living hell crossing the borders to and from America. And to top it all off, they still don’t treat you like a criminal in Russia as you pass through the borders to and from Russia. I know I do it all the time…

Just like China manifestly does. Looking more like me freer than you. I hope China and Russia step in to stop this lunacy!

Why is that above important? Because of what is presented to the world by the US and EU!

The US and the EU have just officially declared war on Iran. Let’s set off the alarm, ring the bell, bang the gong and lets call it what it is. They are being authoritative by not allowing Iran to sell their oil. They feel that they can tell anyone what to do! It’s a perfect anatomy of warfare! Just as history has been re-engineered as with the beginnings of WWII. Half of WWII it is about what the Americans did to the Japanese by slicing them off from oil. Now they are slicing the Iranians off from all affairs of oil. Oil accounts heavily to their GDP. They’re the third biggest oil supplier in the world. And those US senators in Washington voted a hundred to nothing to appoint sanctions on Iran by the Senate. So I accept now that Iran is activity to become the flashpoint of war, just as Japan did many years ago.

Windows to Russia!

Winter held off in Moscow for longer than normal but when it decided to come and visit, it came with a vengeance. It rolled down to -21c (-5.8f) below last night and it got chilly to say the least. Sveta and I had just bought a ceramic heater and I am very glad we did because it is needed today while I work on the sites…

We bought that heater while looking at new refrigerators after our 60 year old one gave up the ghost. I had just talked about defrosting her and good she worked in an article this weekend. I must have jinxed her because she said goodbye…

So now Sveta and I have to decide on which new refrigerator we want. I want a NORD brand that is made in Ukraine and Sveta wants a fancy Samsung or LG. She found one with what is called a super freeze button. Push that button and you can quick freeze things at -24c. I looked outside and realized that we had super freeze going on and I wish that someone would quit pushing the button… 🙂

Sveta has first choice as she is the sweetie of the house and that counts the most. So if she wants a fancy machine then we get a fancy machine…

We have a balcony that is our refrigerator right now. Except it freezes everything…

I will let everyone know when the new fridge is here. I am excited because we are getting one with a huge freezer to freeze up veggies and fruits for the winter. Things that are dirt cheap in the summer we will be able to still eat in the winter when the price gets outrageous…

So I am drinking that wonderful cup of chicory and working on the sites. Jotting down some articles and getting ready to write on my book today. I have a wonderful book that I am writing about Zombies…

The newly-appointed U.S. ambassador to Russia, Michael McFaul came to Russia and instead of going to work and meeting the Kremlin, he immediately called together the Russian opposition and the opposition media and had a meeting. He seemed to have forgotten why he came to Russia! Or did he?

A long time ago I named McFaul, The McFart, because there always was a bad smell in the room when he appeared. It looks like that nickname holds true and this is the person that America sent to Russia, to continue the reset…

Looks more like he was sent to Russia to continue the payoff of the opposition and reignite the games of politics. I know that Russia is on to him and his stink and I really do not think that unless he changes his attitude and tactics that he will last long…

He has a past with Russia that may catch up to him. His ties with Yeltsin have deep roots…

While he immediately backpedaled and has denied that he came to Russia “to only advance American style democracy”. After he was strongly criticized by many of the Russian politicians and Russian media for dancing a tune and a stage show for the opposition leaders as soon he arrived in Moscow…

McFart now hides in his Embassy downtown Moscow and tries to contemplate his next move. He sure was caught off guard by the Russian backlash when decided to forge ties with the opposition first and foremost before even unpacking his bags at his new home. Seems that the eagerness to perform his job for his bosses back home in the US clouded his vision and abilities to do his job…

Or did he do his job correctly? Was his job to piss Russia off? Is he plain stupid? Or does he really think Russians are dumb? Why didn’t he wait until he met with a few Kremlin buddies first, before breaking bread with the opposition? Or is this his hell that has been designated to him by being the fall guy in the Obama admin over the collapse of the reset? Did America send McFaul to Siberia?

Maybe getting to know his own Embassy crew would have been a better start than kissing the oppositions ass first before his jet lag was gone…

President Medvedev’s supporters from Russia’s Big Government launched a new site late Friday -Rossiyabezdurakov.rf. (Russia without fools) where visitors can report any absurd or simply stupid bureaucratic decisions…

http://россиябездураков.рф/ is the site. If you are English speaking and wish to see what it is about, use Google translation. I tried it to see if the site would translate and it did with no problem. There is some interesting things on there, Some are just plain worthless and shows that people all over the world will complain about nothing. But some of them show how stupid things are in Russia just like they are in America…

One example: Someone wrote, “Asphalt is placed on the snow in my urban community. My question – how long it will last?” I had to laugh and think about the American joke we have about when we see workers on the highways and byways. You find it is common to see one guy working and 12 guys standing and watching. I have seen guys lay asphalt on two to three inches of hard pack snow in the middle of winter before in my lifetime… 🙂

I saw some really good statements and the comments are coming in at a fast pace. They are being looked at before they are posted, due to trolls and such. No cussing, hate and racist attitude will be allowed. I think that it is a good thing and it is a better thing to allow Russians a chance to voice their opinion. I just hope someone listens…

Russia will not allow the Libyan scenario to be repeated in the region’s other countries. A statement to this effect was made by Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov as he summarized the results of the year 2011 and outlined the agenda for 2012 at a news conference on Wednesday.

Many of the conflicts that broke out in Arab countries in 2011 will remain hot issues in 2012. As changes in the troubled countries have just begun to take hold, the international community should refrain from meddling in their domestic affairs, Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said.

“Nations should be free to choose what path of development they wish to follow and the international community should accept their choice. Foreign countries should refrain from interfering, let alone the use of force. What is happening in one country has nothing to do with what goes on in others. Other countries should focus on their own business and abide by the principle of ‘Do No Harm.”

A repetition of the Libya scenario has to be avoided at all costs. Unfortunately, some western countries attempted to pursue a similar scenario by offering their so-called “assistance” for resolving the crisis in Syria. Russia will do its utmost to obstruct a UN Security Council resolution on military intervention for Syria. Moscow has proposed a draft resolution which stipulates non-interference and non-use of force. China supported this wording. As for the western partners, they disagree on these two points and this cannot but cause concern.

In addition, Russia will be working to secure a diplomatic solution for the conflict involving Iran and will do whatever it can to settle it through negotiations. Sergei Lavrov had this to say.

“New unilateral sanctions against Iran are designed to stifle the Iranian economy and sow discontent among the Iranian people. Russia is confident that the chances for the talks between the six mediator countries and Iran to resume are quite good.”

Even though Tehran is not easy to deal with, it is willing to embark on a dialogue with the IAEA and allow inspections of its nuclear facilities. But the West itself isn’t always helpful at promoting such a dialogue. For example, the US and Iran have had no diplomatic relations for 30 years as Washington continues to insist that Iran is posing a major threat to global security.

When asked about Russia’s relations with the US, Sergei Lavrov said that they were of primary importance. Even though Moscow and Washington have established a successful partnership in global security, the differences between them are still there crying out for solution. The US’ plans to create a global missile defense system have been a stumbling block in bilateral relations for years. Sergei Lavrov expressed hope that Washington would opt in favor of joining international forces in the face of new challenges.

“The logic behind Russia’s stance is crystal clear. Russia will respond in an appropriate way if someone dares deploy weapons which pose a threat to its national security near its borders. As for our US partners, their motives are hard to grasp. On the one hand, they are saying that their missile defense plans are not aimed at breaking the nuclear balance. They argue that the missile defense shield is needed to guarantee them protection against missiles which could appear in countries outside Europe. On the other hand, they reject our offer to create a joint missile defense system which would pursue these very purposes.”

At present, however, there are no reasons to expect either a confrontation or a new arms race, Lavrov said.

The Russian Foreign Minister assured those present at the press conference that Russia’s foreign policy would undergo no changes in 2012. Russia will continue to seek to ensure favorable conditions for the country’s modernization, make every effort to ensure international stability, and continue to insist on collective decision-making in crisis situations.

I was thinking this morning over that cup of coffee that I would update what is happening on Windows to Russia and sub-domains. Yesterday was the first full day of smooth running, at least what was presented to the world as visible. It was a relief to my heart condition, I will tell you that. I have not been getting enough sleep and it was showing on me…

I am going to show you a section of a picture that Sveta took as a screen shot. We were hit yesterday by a huge “Brute Force Attack” behind the scenes  that lasted for hours. I finally discovered something to shut them down from now on after 5 attempts to force entry and it will block them for an hour, before they can even attempt an entry again. Then I can take their IP’s and enter it into my server and remove them forever from attacking me. I also traced routed these IP’s and followed them to the originating source. It took awhile because they are tricky and use proxies and bounce off other IP’s…

There was 10’s of thousands of attempts by a auto.js that attempted to break into our site through the login.php by brute force. I finally got in its way and diverted it, but who knows how long it would have run if I was not monitoring it? Now my system will stop it automatically…

The IP 85.222.75.110 takes us on a trip to Poland, Germany, the Middle East, Mexico, South America and finally after a few more switches and reroutes it ends up smack in the middle of Washington DC. DC is the end of the line. On its way it changes numbers multiples of time and becomes pretty obscure at times but they always left a path to follow, even though they tried to cover the holes up…

It is not the 30,000 to 40,000 legit hits we get a day that make the site go down. It is the hundreds of thousands of hits behind the scene from attacks that take the site down. Shear volume will do it every time…

The last big attempt several days ago, came out of Houston, Texas and they used a route through China to make it look like someone else was doing the dirty work. They hit us while we were trying to switch to our new server and really messed things up… 🙁

So today I am just enjoying that cup of chicory, *defrosting the refrigerator and writing this article…

PPS: I also have installed what is called VSF Simple Stats. It gives me a real-time look at what is hitting the server at that given second. All proposals on the on-line space, protection of the interests of right possessors or fight against children pornography are discusses with Internet experts, he said. It is impossible to block or censor the Internet, otherwise it will lose its essence, he noted.

The Internet is freer in Russia than in the West, the minister believes.

There is a view that the Russian government allegedly seeks to have more state control over the Internet. All states together should regulate the global network, Shchyogolev said. Not all countries are ready to sign such a convention on the Internet space as a legally-binding document.

States that will join the code of behavior will assume obligations to cooperate in the fight against criminal and terrorist activities with the use of informational telecommunication technologies, including networks, the minister said.
