It was a fantastic trip and we recommend anyone to go, But rent a car and see your own sights.

We saw tour buses everywhere, packed with Russians, Americans, Germans and Britons. They really looked wore out and grouchy!

Example: At Dead Sea, many tor buses stopped and gave the people 45 minutes: to change clothes and float in the Dead Sea and get out take a shower and get dressed again and leave to the next destination. (Not Fun)

Hope everyone enjoyed the pictures and if you have any questions just ask.

The UN Refuses to Blame North Korea for the Sinking…

The United Nations gathered in a meeting and hashed out a statement about the sinking of the South Korean ship Cheonan. What was expressed as the result did not meet America’s and South Korea’s expectations about the situation. It fell short of making a conclusion that extradited North Korea into the situation. North Korea was not officially blamed…

At least the United Nations can see that you have to have evidence and real facts before you point fingers. The UN did condemned the sinking of the South Korean warship, the Cheonan. But then they refused to blame a North Korea for the sinking.

Why?

Because as I have repeated time and time again about the fact that there is not any evidence that supports the statement that South Korea and the USA claim that North Korea sank the South Korean ship…

Now the Western press and South Korean press is having a issue with this statement by the UN. This type of statement brings the war mongers out in force because they really dislike it when evil North Korea is not criticized, even if North Korea does not deserve it. That has never mattered…

The drums beat loudly at this moment and the screams are being heard about how worthless the UN has become. The UN can not even criticize North Korea for the terrible act that they performed by sinking the South Korean Cheonan.

But why would the UN say that North Korea did it when the evidence is inappropriate to draw conclusions about what happened. The word alleged was the key word and we all know what that means…

We Alleged So It Must Be True…

Russia and USA say, “I Spy is Over”…

Credentials of a U.S. Department of State spec...
Image via Wikipedia

I spy has been settled between Russia and America, in a fashion that leaves all the asked questions unanswered and all the future questions will never be answered, according to the way the deal was handled. It was a 4 for 10 swap…

Russia and the U.S. have concluded the spy scandal. Both the Russian Foreign Ministry and the U.S. Department of State have officially confirmed recent media announcements about an agreement on a ‘spy exchange.’ According to the agreement, 10 alleged special agents for Russia who had to plead guilty or go to jail in the U.S. will be swapped for four people officially convicted for spying for Western countries. (Can we say coercion?)

The main conditions of the swap deal was for the 10 special agents for Russia to plead guilty. (Other words admit we are a bad people…)

President Dmitry Medvedev has signed a decree pardoning the four jailed  convicts based also on their petitions for pardon, in which they also confess their crimes and signed statements of oath also.  All 4 of the pardoned by Medvedev have already served lengthy prison sentences – between 5 and 11 years.  (Now we know why Medvedev has been quiet…)

The members of the alleged spy team have all signed statements of oath with their quilt pleas that expressively forbid them from talking to the press about said dealings over this case.

Can anyone understand that this was a total manipulation of the judicial and governmental systems from day one, plus that ulterior motives ruled in this aspect? Does anyone realize that this was a warning shot to wake up certain governmental officials in the USA.

Russia: Etiquette & Folk Medicine!

Russian folk medicine:

* It is widely believed in Russia that sitting on cold surfaces, such as rocks or even the ground, is not simply taboo for a woman, but it is extremely hazardous to her health and inhibits her ability to bear children. It is a practice that is rigorously upheld, especially in cold weather and with young children, who will often unknowingly sit on the ground, and who will frequently be lifted up by a supervising adult.

* Keeping all parts of one’s body as dry and warm as possible in cold weather and rain is generally practiced as prophylaxis for the common cold in Russia, as it is in many parts of the world. There are a variety of home remedies used to treat the common cold, including hot tea. Cold beverages are avoided while one is sick. This is not unique to Russia; however, many Russians tend to be more adamant about it than most Westerners.

* Traditional self-medication is prevalent in Russia. Banki (банки) are little glass jars that are usually applied to the back. A match is lit inside in order to burn up the oxygen and create suction. This technique is known as fire cupping in traditional Chinese medicine. Gorchichniki (горчичники) are mustard plasters that are applied onto the back or the chest. Mustard plasters have been and still are used by Westerners, as well. Doctors often prescribe banki and/or gorchichniki instead of chemical medications or antibiotics when a patient has flu and cold-like symptoms.

These beliefs and practices may be considered as superstitious by some Westerners, who think that viral and bacterial causes of colds and flu make it irrational to associate body temperature with the probability of getting sick, and hot remedies with better recovery. However, some existing research shows that mild hypothermia inhibits the immune response, in which case Russian traditional beliefs and remedies may be not be completely baseless.

Russian Etiquette:

* Men in Russia will always shake hands when they greet for the first time during the day. However, it is taboo to shake hands with your gloves on. A glove must be removed, no matter how cold it may be. Russia is one of the many countries where this handshake tradition is rigorously upheld.

* Shaking hands and giving things across the threshold of a house is taboo. Usually a guest will come inside before shaking a host’s hand when arriving and shake it before leaving the threshold when leaving. Sometimes people will even avoid saying “hello” and “goodbye” across the threshold.

* It is traditional in Russia for men to give flowers to women on nearly every occasion, but only an odd number can be given. Giving an even number of flowers is taboo, because even numbers are brought to funerals.

* You should never go to someone else’s house empty handed. Alcoholic beverages and/or dessert is a common gift to bring when invited to someone’s home.

* You should not forget to “Thank” the hosts for the welcoming and the dinner.

* You must remove the shoes in the house, because many people keep icons at home and according to Russian Orthodox religion it is a bad custom wear shoes in front of an icon, or even to say something bad about someone. It brings bad luck.

* It is traditional to always propose some kind of toast when drinking. Refusing to drink vodka on certain occasions or to a certain toast may sometimes be considered rude. For instance refusing to drink vodka at a funeral banquet is considered unacceptable. However you never toast in honor of those who have died or on Easter (for the same reason). Your glass cannot touch the table from the time a toast is proposed to the time you drink. Your glass should remain on the table when it is being refilled.

* Many Russians consider it bad form not to finish a bottle of vodka once it has been opened, no matter how few people there are left to finish it.

* It is also considered bad form to drink alcohol, including relatively mild beverages such as beer, without eating something between sips or shots. For this reason, Russian cuisine is particularly rich in appetizers and finger-foods (закуски), as they are used as chasers.

* When pouring wine, you should never pour back handed. This was a way of doing away with your enemies. You wear a ring full of poison, as you pour the wine out backhanded the poison drips into the glass un-noticed.

* It is impolite to point with your finger. But if you must point, it’s better to use your entire hand instead of your finger.

* It is impolite to put your feet up on furniture with your shoes on. Sometimes, simply showing the soles of your shoes is considered rude.

* Whistling indoors is taboo. Russians sometimes say superstitiously that you will “whistle away your money”. The origins of this are in superstition, as it used to be considered a sin: it was believed that when you whistled you were entertaining the devil. In general it is considered rude.

* Traditional Russian cheek kissing is done using three kisses, but it is not widely upheld all the time.

* When someone sneezes you tell them Bud’te zdorovy (Rus: Будьте здоровы), which literally means “Be Healthy”. It used to be believed that saying this would help the sneezer keep from getting sick. Russian speakers will say it just as freely as an English speaker will say, “Bless you”, but the superstitious origins of the phrase have been widely lost in both languages

Ukraine Getting Jitters About South Stream…

Image via Wikipedia

Is Ukraine capable of convincing Russia that the days of stealing and playing games with European gas are over?

That is a billion dollar question to Ukraine and before the new president came on board.  Ukraine had an old president and prime minister that were bound and determined to destroy Ukraine. Without this transit money Ukraine would be in serious trouble financially.

Now Ukraine has been expressing her desire to reaffirm that she is a good transit country. A few weeks ago Ukraine made it clear that extra gas could be shipped through them if Belarus was going to be problems.

Is this transition from despising to embracing Russia, “a day late and a dollar short?”

Ukraine, which currently transits 80% of Russian gas to Europe, has been trying to convince Russia to set aside the South Stream project. If launched, South Stream will substantially reduce or cease the amount of gas transited via Ukraine and devastate the economy.

It seems to me that they did not care a a few years ago if they had the gas transit business. So what makes Russia believe that they will still care in a few years when another Orange Revolution is attempted by the West?

Here is a saying I use, “You Reap What You Sow!”  Looks like they better get the fertilizer out and help the relationship grow before it is too late…

Swap Them Russian Spies for American Spys…

I just have to do a small article on this because it really makes me realize how stupid the whole situation was how many games where played by powers to be. This is being called by Western News as  “In the tradition of the Cold War!”

Doesn’t that make you all excited and nostalgic?

So it looks like a quick end is in site for the Russian Spies. I had said on the first post that I did, that in a few months no one will remember who the spies are. Except the Bombshell Redhead (Anna) of course! 🙂

10 spies for 10 spies – you mean America had 10 whole spies in Russia…

Help Growing New Vessels For The Heart…

Having had numerous heart attacks, I find information like this interesting. I am one for new ideas and in this case a 10 year old idea that might be worth checking into. The video explains it…

It seems strange and I had to laugh at the poor guy bouncing on the bed. I have gone through some crazy treatments myself and you feel like a guinea pig at times.

It is a shame that Russia has a problem of equipping medical facilities outside of Moscow and it would be nice if more effort was put toward better facilities for Russians.

But the video does show that basic methods do bring results and it is not how fancy it all is, but how effective it is. I have read extensively about the ability of the body to grow new bypass vessels itself to help heal. This seems to be a way for the body to be stimulated to self heal.

Cool…

The Supermarket Killer Cop – Gets Life…

This is an update post that finalizes the story of the Killer Cop…

Denis Yevsyukov, the ex-police officer convicted for the deadly shooting in a Moscow supermarket last year, has arrived at the jail where he will spend the rest of his days. It is one of Russia’s most secure prisons, nicknamed “the prison of the doomed”. It currently holds about 700 people guilty of the most serious crimes and sentenced to life.

No one has ever managed to escape from the facility.

Yevsyukov will be serving a life term after he opened fire in a Moscow supermarket last April, killing two people and wounding seven. (Link)

We have done several posts on this case and I linked above to the original post that will give you a run down on what happened if you do not know…

This man (cop) went off the drunk deep end and went on a killing spree that involved just everyday people. People that he had never met before…

Lets hope that he never gets out to do this again. Some people have to be put away to protect society and if you watch the video you will understand that…

Looks Like Russia is Breaking that Oil Barrier Down…

Oil refinery#Anacortes Refinery (Tesoro Corpor...
Image via Wikipedia

It was less than a year ago I was trying to explain to everyone about Russia and her efforts to enter the gas and oil markets of America. The one thing that I was insistent about is that Russians plan long term and are patient. Well finally it is starting to pay off…

Oil refineries spanning the area between the Puget Sound in the Pacific Northwest and greater Los Angeles have been quick to try out oil that is landing in tankers sent from Russia’s eastern coast. Imports have gone from zero to an estimated 100,000 barrels a day in a matter of months since a pipeline bringing crude from deep inside Eastern Siberia came online.

This article by WSJ is interesting because “no one”, I mean “no one”, likes to admit that Russia is working her way into the oil and gas business of the USA. These same “no ones”, have also been caught by surprise because they sat back and only thought that Russia only cared about the hyper Asian markets for oil. Then while they snoozed, Russia knocked on the door with a bunch of full oil tankers. You see Russia has also been building extra capacity and is shipping the same to the Asia market…

Why has this opportunity for Russia come up?

Well that is a good question and has to do with a combination of things. One is that oil from Mexico has been on a huge decrease as of late and that seems to be going to stay a downward trend. Two is that the USA is trying to diversify her sources for oil. Three is that Russian oil is cheaper than the oil that we get from our own pipelines in Alaska. (Yes Cheaper!)

Also contrary to all popular belief, the usage of oil is not going to decrease and only going to become higher in demand. Russia has created a gateway to supply Siberian oil to America at the same time increasing oil flow to Asia. The USA knows that they better get on the band wagon because Asia will take all the oil that can be sent by Russia and leave the USA out in the cold…

So now you are going to be driving your car on not just Middle Eastern oil but Russian oil now also…

Russia: Medvedev Lets a Protestor Speak out!

This tidbit of news just appeared over the wire. I have included it so that all those Anti – Russian people will have something different to look at instead of the kill all reporters stories.

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev was interrupted by a protestor during his speech at the Kremlin to mark the fifteenth anniversary of the country’s constitution.

In his speech, Medvedev repeated his commitment to safeguarding basic human rights and freedoms and defended the decision to extend the presidential term from four years to six.

As Medvedev was speaking, a man began shouting his opposition to the recent extension of presidential and parliamentary terms.

Security officers started to bundled the man away but the president intervened, “No, no… Let the man stay and listen… The constitution has been adopted so that everyone has the right to express his own stance. It is a stance. And it can be respected.”

It was later discovered that the protestor was Roman Dobrokhotov, a journalist from the ‘Chastny Korrespondent’ internet portal. According to some reports, he is one of the founders of ‘My’ (“Us”), a youth opposition movement. (Link)

I have seen this happen a lot more lately and it really seems that Medvedev wants to hear the good and bad from the people.

I also think that Medvedev is smart enough to realize that a journalist like Roman Dobrokhotov intentionally creates a issue so that he gets hauled off to jail. Then he can whine and cry about human rights violations.

Other words he is trouble with a capital T and Medvedev handled him correctly!

The ending of the story is that Roman Dobrokhotov never would calm down and ended up taking a ride to the police station. So that he would have time to think about his plans for telling the world how his human rights have been violated! As par for the course he got out of jail and cried about his rights and violations…

I have watched for two years in Moscow and this man is a hate monger. He spoke downtown Moscow once and after listening to his mouth for 30 seconds you knew that he was a capital T!
