The 5th World Leaders Symposium looks a complete mess. The former Soviet President, Mikhail Gorbachev had no intention of going to Tbilisi despite the news and hopes of the organizers – He has always had completely different plans. U.S. former Secretary of StateCondoleezza Rice, was expected to attend the event, but suddenly she was off and running, leaving the country in an unknown direction after a short visit to Batumi. Later it was reported that she preferred a trip to Ireland‘s capital, home to a constellation of brilliant literary talents, instead of the meeting with Mikheil Saakashvili. It would certainly unfair to blame Ms Rice for the choice she made.

Russian Children Rights Ombudsman Pavel Astakhov said the three Leschinsky sisters abused by their foster parents will not return to the US.
He believes there is enough proof of tortures to cancel the adoption.
A US court is currently holding hearings into the case of the Leschinsky couple, charged with abuse of their adopted daughters, aged from 12 to 14.

Yes I went back and counted: 5 drones shot down, out of total 6 drones spotted. For some reason Abkhazian did not knock down one drone spotted the other day.

According to the Russian Agriculture Ministry, Russia has sufficient grain reserves, Agriculture Minister Yelena Skrynnik announced at today’s State Council presidium meeting on domestic food market regulations. The ministry estimates the grain harvest at about 60m-65m tonnes in 2010. This amount coupled with the reserves will ensure the domestic demand currently projected at 77m tonnes. “There are no reasons to expect abrupt price increases or a food product deficit,” Skrynnik said, noting that any price increases were merely speculative.

The Economic Court of the CIS has given Moscow and Minsk one month for an out-of-court settlement of the matter on Russia’s duties on oil products supplied to Belarus, the court’s press office reported to RBC. Consequently, the court granted Russia’s request for an extrajudicial dispute resolution.

When asked about the possibility of decreasing the gas price for Gazprom, Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Karim Masimov indicated to journalists that the matter of the export gas price between Russia and Kazakhstan had already been settled and was not subject to discussion. He reiterated that the two countries had established a price policy and signed an agreement. “The price has been fixed, and Russia has not brought up the matter,” he stated.

Ukraine hopes that the price for natural gas supplied from Russia, which Kiev considers unfair and non-market, will be revised, Ukrainian Ambassador to Russia Vladimir Yelchenko stated at a press conference today. “We really do believe that this price is unfair. We find the price formula devised by the country’s previous government in 2009 to be incomprehensible. Moreover, the situation on the oil and gas market is completely different today than it was in 2009. The prices are sinking, and we would like these new conditions to be reflected in the price that we plan to suggest to Russia,” he explained. The diplomat indicated that the Ukrainian prime minister was personally supervising the gas price issue, and noted that the PM had paid several visits to Moscow to participate in talks. “Hopefully, we will hear some good news in the near future,” Yelchenko said.

Kazakhstan’s parliament has offered Russia the chance to create a joint grain terminal project in the Far East, speaker of the lower chamber of Kazakhstan’s parliament Romin Madinov announced at a conference today. Gazprom is currently supplying 18m cubic meters of natural gas to Turkey via the Blue Stream gas pipeline, official spokesman for the Russian energy holding Sergei Kupriyanov told journalists today, noting that this amount equaled the amount supplied prior to the accident in Iran. “For 10 days, Gazprom assisted its Turkish partners in overcoming the consequences of an explosion on a stretch of a gas pipeline from Iran,” he stated, adding that the Russian company had supplied a total of 426m cubic meters of gas from August 25 to September 4. At certain times, daily supplies reached 42m cubic meters at Turkey’s request.

Russia will cancel its grain export embargo as soon as the situation with the grain harvest becomes clear, PresidentDmitry Medvedev said on Monday.”As for the grain embargo, it is a compulsory but interim measure,” Medvedev told agricultural producers in central Russia. “As soon as we understand how much we have harvested, the embargo will be canceled. You shouldn’t even doubt that.”
Prime MinisterVladimir Putin said last week that the embargo would be canceled only after next year’s crop was harvested and the size of the country’s grain stock was clear.
Russia imposed a grain export ban on August 15 until December 31, causing a significant spike in grain prices on international markets.

Today I was drinking my coffee and thinking about Pastor Phillip Miles.
In the last few days Windows to Russia has been overwhelmed with thousands of Goggle hits.
The world has woke up that Phillip Miles is in trouble, very deep trouble!
I have stayed on this story because I was hoping that people in the USA would take it seriously. I have given as much information about Phillip Miles that I could give. I have received many comments (many unprintable) I printed all that did not call me every name in the book. Many of these were from Church organizations.
I am an American living in Russia! I know very well what can happen if you mess up. I hope that you all have learned what can happen if you mess up. American Mentality does not work in the rest of the world, you must have World Mentality to survive.
I have traced many views of Windows to Russia over the past few months to the, Department of State of the USA, Washington DC, South Carolina State Gov. and many other government organizations. Sad that they did not see to it that Miles was brought home.
I watched web links appear then block my IP as they realized that I was printing information. I saw that, as people in the USA running from the fact that Pastor Miles was in trouble. I saw Churches writing articles about what happened, but never saying to do anything but, Pray to God. I saw Miles cousin on a forum website try to help. He mysteriously got quiet! That was a mistake! (Everyone should have been screaming at the top of their lungs.) I see many people say things like he deserved it. I saw a lot of sad things over this situation……….
From the beginning all information pointed to Miles going to jail, people tell me they knew what was happening from the very beginning. Then why did they have lawyers using tactics such as American Mentality & non knowledge of the laws. Those tactics might work with Suzy Q and her first time to Russia, but Miles was a seasoned Traveler. Miles traveled during Soviet Era when times were much stricter.
You all have one more chance to try to scream loud enough! He has an appeal allowed to him. Maybe now it is time to put Political pressure on. Playing the silent game & praying did not work….. Time to put the pressure on!
