Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin shared some details of his meeting with the returned spies.

Question: And you won’t say anything else?

VP: Yes, she was. You know, there is not much to add here. Dmitry Medvedev already said that this is the result of a sell-out. And sellouts always come to no good, they end up in a ditch either drunk or drugged. The other day one such traitor kicked the bucket exactly like that, abroad. And there is no point doing it, really…

Q: You mean that you know all traitors by names?

VP: Of course we do.

Q: And you aren’t going to punish them in any way, are you? You think they will just somehow..?

VP: I think that is an improper question. And such decisions are not made at a press conference. Intelligence agencies have their own code, and all their staff follow it. As for these people, I can say that it has been a hard lot for each and every one of them. Just imagine – you must learn a foreign language as if it were your mother tongue, you’d have to think in it, and speak it, and execute all the tasks set by the motherland for many long years and with no diplomatic cover to back you up, and facing threats to your own safety and that of your families when, say, your own children don’t even know what you do.

Q: Could you say what they will do now in Russia?

VP: They will work, and I am sure they will have good jobs, and I am sure that they will live a full life.

Q: How high is your assessment of their performance?

VP: It is not my job to assess it. This must be done by experts and their superiors, and the end consumer of such kind of information, the supreme commander – the President of the Russian Federation.

Russia will get to a point and tell the USA to bug off… I am here and see it as a problem that will only get better when Bush gets his nose out of the Russian politics. Maybe the new election will put someone with intelligence in the WhiteHouse of the USA.

I don’t usually say much political but this has me hopping mad. I am a Conservative Republican, and yes I can see this as a major issue in the world.

America stay out of Russian politics……….

Ukraine Court Has Suspended The Election Results! (Yulia Strikes Back)

This article is for the 4 e-mails that I received that told me in not polite terms, that I was full of #@&*! That the election has been called and is done in Ukraine and because the Western world has called it fair, it is and will be fair, period! (Other words the election is signed sealed and delivered!) Oops – is all I can say…

A Ukrainian court has suspended the result of the recent presidential election, following a challenge by losing candidate Yulia Tymoshenko.

Mrs Tymoshenko, the Prime Minister, went to the supreme administrative court in person on Tuesday claiming the result was rigged.

The court says the result should be suspended while it considers the evidence she has submitted.

It also says the inauguration of winner Viktor Yanukovych should be delayed.

Ukraine’s parliament had agreed on Tuesday that Mr Yanukovych should be inaugurated on 25 February.

The new court ruling concerns the Ukrainian Central Electoral Commission‘s declaration on Sunday that Mr Yanukovych had won the vote. (Link)

Looks like that inauguration on 25 February is from people that expect Yulia to bow out gracefully! Yulia according to reports had around 9 volumns of information leading to proof of the accusations of fruad issues during the elections. Yulia says she has videos, written testaments, pictures and even poll officials/observer testaments that prove her case.

I saw videos of boxes of information going into the courthouse and Yulia marched that evidence in herself. I knew right then that it is going to take awhile to sort through this mountain of information!

I will say again, “It ain’t over till Yulia says it is over!” Yulia will never accept Viktor Yanukovych as the winner and if her actions in the 2004 elections do not make a believer of you, then her actions in the 2010 elections will.

I find it interesting…

PS: The real questions are: Does Yulia have a case? – and – What happens next? – if she does. I also feel it is good to know that Yulia Timoshenko is afforded the ability to challenge the results of the election in court. This is a good see this of Ukraine’s system of government. No country should allow allegations of fraud and falsifications in their elections, without due process to determine the whole truth of the matter. It will be very interesting to hear and see all the details of these allegations.

The USA has found that their sweet Georgia Democracy has lost its proverbial mind….

Georgia is partially responsible for the start of military standoff with Russia in South Ossetia, a top ranked representative of the U.S. Department of State announced August 9 on condition of anonymity. The United States long urged Georgia to avoid military conflict with the Russians, to avoid any escalation. The standing of Washington was clear from the very beginning, the unnamed diplomat said.(Link)

In Russia a Lack of Smile is Deceiving…


I understand that Dostoyevsky and Tolstoy portrayed Russians as a brooding, complicated people, and ethnographers have confirmed that Russians tend to focus on dark feelings and memories more than Westerners do. But that may not be all bad after the results of a study released finds that even though Russians tend to brood, they are less likely than Americans to feel as depressed as a result. It seems that the University of Michigan conducted a survey, actually two surveys completed in the US and in Russia between 2007 and 2008. The studies examined 171 and 168 students, respectively. All respondents were around 21 years old…

The reports on the outcomes of two separate studies conducted with funding from the National Institute of Mental Health. In one study, the researchers examined the prevalence of self-reflection and depression among 85 U.S. students and 83 Russian students. Participants completed tests designed to measure their levels of brooding, and their level of depressive symptoms. The researchers found that Russians were more likely to brood, but that doing so was associated with fewer depressive symptoms than the Americans.

In the second study, 86 U.S. and 76 Russian students were asked to recall and analyze their “deepest thoughts and feelings” about a recent unpleasant interpersonal experience. The researchers measured their level of distress after this exercise. Then participants were asked to indicate the extent to which they adopted a self-immersed perspective (seeing the event replay through their own eyes as if they were right there) versus a self-distanced perspective (watching the event unfold as an observer, in which they could see themselves from afar) while analyzing their feelings.

Compared to the Americans, the Russians showed less distress after recalling the experience, and were less likely to blame the other person in their analysis of the experience. Importantly, Russians also indicated that they were more likely than Americans to spontaneously distance themselves from their experience while analyzing their feelings. And this tendency to self-distance was linked with lower levels of distress and blame.

But according to these surveys it was found out that even though Russians look like the biggest grumpy people on earth that they are happier than Americans…

But we are talking about 21 year olds…

Moldova


Hello,

One of the ex-Soviet countries that I really like was Moldova. Moldova was very poor. The villages collapsing. The only thing about Moldova, that was modern was the capital. Funny thing that was the part about Moldova I did not like (the Capital).

As I drove the roads of Moldova, I noticed the people. They worked hard and kept to their tasks. The people worked the grapevine fields. That seemed to me the largest farm crop by far. I do not drink, but if I did, I bet that Moldova Wine is good, if how hard the people work is indicator.

I enjoyed the villages that I saw and the food was good. The byways were never without a good well full of cold water, close by the roadside. This impressed me. You could be 20 km from a village and have a good clean well to get a drink from. That is something that you do not find in Russia or the Ukraine.

The roads had very few signs, But then again there was hardly any roads. 🙂 But the roads in Moldova were not in bad shape. Actually the roads in Moldova were good until we got to the Capital of Moldova called Chisinau. Then the roads got terrible.

All in all I thought Moldova was a beautiful and exciting place to visit. The farm fields were well taken care of, the drive was pleasant, the people friendly, The country was inviting to me. I would like to live there. The county of Moldova would be good for your soul.
