Moldova

Hello,

One of the ex-Soviet countries that I really like was Moldova. Moldova was very poor. The villages collapsing. The only thing about Moldova, that was modern was the capital. Funny thing that was the part about Moldova I did not like (the Capital).

As I drove the roads of Moldova, I noticed the people. They worked hard and kept to their tasks. The people worked the grapevine fields. That seemed to me the largest farm crop by far. I do not drink, but if I did, I bet that Moldova Wine is good, if how hard the people work is indicator.

I enjoyed the villages that I saw and the food was good. The byways were never without a good well full of cold water, close by the roadside. This impressed me. You could be 20 km from a village and have a good clean well to get a drink from. That is something that you do not find in Russia or the Ukraine.

The roads had very few signs, But then again there was hardly any roads. 🙂 But the roads in Moldova were not in bad shape. Actually the roads in Moldova were good until we got to the Capital of Moldova called Chisinau. Then the roads got terrible.

All in all I thought Moldova was a beautiful and exciting place to visit. The farm fields were well taken care of, the drive was pleasant, the people friendly, The country was inviting to me. I would like to live there. The county of Moldova would be good for your soul.

It Is Our Tax Money America and Saakashvili Loves It…

President Mikhail Saakashvili of Georgia in Fr...
Me Love American Money…

I really try to ignore what America does because it is not good for my heart to read about all the stupidity that we allow our government to do…

But when I read information like this coming from Georgia, my blood boils! On this side of the world you get to hear about all the millions and millions and billions that America gives to countries all over the world as financial aid. This aid goes for weapons, police protection, building new military complexes but very very rarely helps a desperate person that needs food…

Today the Prime Minister of Georgia, Nika Gilauri said that USD 20.5 million of U.S. financial aid will be directed at the needs of the law enforcement structures of the country of Georgia – according to Business-Gruzia.68.5 million dollars more will be spent on improving living conditions of refugees from Abkhazia. Plus $133.5 million more, on various economic projects all over the country.

Previously last week the Ministry of Finance of Georgia reported the USA intended to allocate the republic USD 242 mln in the nearest time.

I really wonder how many of you understand that your tax money is paying for Saakashvili (President of Georgia) to have a wonderful and fruitful lifestyle of the rich and famous..

No seriously! You pay your hard earned money, so that Sassy can live the “Life of Riley”.

I have a right to be upset because I have paid taxes just like you have all my work career. I never thought in the past much about where all the money went but I am here to tell you that billions and billions and billions (add a bunch more billions) go to leaders of these little countries and they squirrel it away for the day that they get kicked out of power… (This I have discovered after living over seas…)

{Just like the last past president of Ukraine, Viktor Yushchenko do you think he lives in poverty after the billions that he stole from Ukraine?}

Oh I forgot! You don’t care that we waste our money on Georgia. We have lots of money and can just print more…

Hummmm…

Russia Developing A Russian National Operating System (RNOS)…

Use of Operating Sistem at November 2009
Russians Opt For Linux…

Now I think that all countries should have their own Operating System (OS) that they run everything on in the government. It just makes sense and the cost would be tremendously cheaper after the initial set up. It seems that Russia has been busy trying to implement a Russian OS that would allow them to be free of the overhead of the licensing nightmare that accompanies outside software usage…

Russia’s Communications and Mass Media Ministry is determined to create a Russian National Operating System (OS).  The first Russian OS version may appear as early as 2011. It will not be built from scratch, however; it will be derived 90 percent from Linux. Then later on, the ministry expects the share of domestic contributions to increase. In early 2011, the government will stage a tender for a contract to build a full-fledged national operating system, which may appear around 2013. It is presumed that the operating system will be deployed in ministries and governmental agencies, but they will still have a choice whether to use the national OS or a foreign one.

I have been hearing rumors about this for several years. It started out as a 100% Linux project to remove any issues with Windows OS legalities.

But Microsoft has been giving base code to Russia over the last few years. There has been some concern from the Western side of the world but as Microsoft has stated, all code has been protected and is properly managed…

Does that mean that Microsoft is trying to get more of their code involved in this development? Does Russia have a right to use Microsoft code as they see fit?

There has been issues in the past that have not fared well for Microsoft in Russia and most people say just kick it out of the system…

In fact, it has been reported that a program is underway and is replacing Microsoft OS with Linux software at Russian schools across the country. This became a huge issue after a case that involved a teacher in Russia using unlicensed Windows OS on school computers. Even though Microsoft was not the instigator of said issues and wished that all would have stayed buried. Microsoft got the raw end of the deal in Russia…

Since incidents like that, Microsoft has been very cooperative with Russia and transfer of source code data has happened several times…

I find it interesting the things that transpire in the world and we really know very little about what is really going on behind those closed doors…

Yup Says Russia – Medvedev is Back…

THE KREMLIN, MOSCOW. Dmitry Medvedev assumed t...
Assumed The Position of Russian President…

Medvedev has been very quiet ever since the American excursion fiasco. But he has made a very good trip to Finland and he looks like he got his stride back. I have been very glad to see that Medvedev’s trip to Finland was good. He has discovered that close to home is where the heart is…

Today Medvedev did what is expected from a President of Russia

Law enforcement and security agencies and [energy] companies, as well as the government, must do all they can to make sure that such things do not happen again. If they do, none of the law enforcement, security and energy company chiefs will keep their jobs. All of them will be sacked,” Medvedev said.

This was in response to the attack by a group of at least six gunmen who set off five bombs with an estimated total of up to 3 kg of TNT at the Baksan Hydropower Plant in the North Caucasus republic of Kabardino-Balkaria, killing two police officers. The blaze from the blast covered an area of 250 square meters.

Russia also blamed the success of the attack on lax security arrangements at the plant, saying two of the police officers were asleep at the time of the attack – one in his car and the other in a service room. They were killed instantly in their sleep.

Medvedev has lots on his plate and also signed the new National Anti-corruption Program and this is the start of his success or failure in corruption and bribery control at all levels in Russia.

A Russian president has to be tough too garner the respect of his people. That is why Putin was so popular and still is…

The only problem that can come of this is if Medvedev fails to follow through, if the problems are not solved. For then he looks weak…

Russia: May 1st, The Day Of Spring & Labor!

Originally posted 2008-04-30 17:01:00.
Hello,

Russia has another Holiday. 🙂

The Day of Spring and Labor / Праздник Весны и Труда (day off)
May 1, 2008
Formerly International Worker’s Solidarity Day under the old Communist system, it seems that everyone calls this one something different now. “Labor Day,” “The May Holiday,” and “Worker’s Day” all seem to be used, but everyone at least uses the same date. It is celebrated with parades, concerts, food, and drink and traditionally kicks off the dacha season. The holiday will be officially observed from the first to the third of May, with official days off. The fourth of May will be a work day. This year the fourth of May falls on a Sunday.

Grumble! Grumble!

Russia Says the USA Kidnapped a Russian…

America Kidnaps Russian…

First Iran accuses America of kidnapping a nuclear scientist and he finally got home after being smarter than his captors…

Now Russia is accusing America of kidnapping a Russian. Russia is really pissed off. I have watched this for a good week plus and have waited for the Western press to report on this escapade. Less than a day ago the Western press finally acknowledged that this incident has happened…

Talk about trying to ignore the truth!

Russia accused the United States of “kidnapping” a Russian pilot extradited from Liberia in a cocaine smuggling case, the foreign ministry said on Wednesday. The detention in May of cargo-plane pilot Konstantin Yaroshenko by US anti-narcotics police from Liberia to be jailed in New York “directly violates the norms of international law“, the ministry said in a statement.

“Effectively, we are talking about the kidnapping of a Russian citizen in a third world country!” it said, complaining that US authorities did not inform the Russian embassy about Yaroshenko’s detention.

Seven people including one Russian were arrested in Liberia on May 28 on drug trafficking and conspiracy charges and deported to the United States after drug enforcement officials caught them with 4,000 kilos (8,800 pounds) of cocaine.

In a telephone interview with Russia’s NTV television on Wednesday, Yaroshenko complained of “torture” and “beatings” in jail in New York and said he was deprived of sleep and necessary medications.

If found guilty, Yaroshenko faces up to 40 years in jail.

Russia has reached a boiling point on this and with the incident that just happened with Iran it looks like America is on a spree of doing what they want when they want…

This is a clear cut example of the rift that has developed between Russia and America. I read article after article about how Russia and America will grow stronger because of the little spy escapade that everyone seemed want to relate to a new cold war era…

It is not the spy bull that is the problem and I have made it clear that the problem is all the American games going on that tend to piss people off…

I also said in some of my articles that I hoped I was proven wrong about the “reset has failed” between America and Russia…

But this is one more log on that burning fire…

Russian Banks Say We Do Not Want Your Money…

ceramic piggy bank
Saving Money…

Russia’s banks are trying to limit new deposits by clients in the short term, as they face up to excess liquidity and a lack of quality borrowers.

Research conducted by Expert Rating Agency and the National Association for Financial Studies, shows total Russian bank deposits in 2009 were up 26.7% year on year to 7.5 trillion rubles. This was mainly due to a general public trend towards saving where possible, against a backdrop of severe economic recession, coupled with rising bank deposit rates, as Russian retail banks found themselves fighting for depositors to ease liquidity concerns, which pushed deposit rates as high as 20%

Deposits are expected to grow by up to 25% in 2010, as Russians save like never before! So – “Banks today have excessive liquidity, but they don’t really see any reliable and quality borrowers to credit. So, they need to make such offers just look attractive enough to retain existing clients, but not attract any new ones.”

I hate to tell the banks this but Russians do not borrow money in the first place like people in the Western world do and they still believe in the old saying, “Save for a rainy day!”

So how can you have too much cash on hand? Why is that a problem? (and if it is) Why did we make it to be a problem?

Now the world is worried about excess liquidity – “Cash held by a bank above the normal requirement for that bank.”

I think that our world has gone “crazy” and “to hell in a hand basket”…

Sorry we don’t want your deposit money!

Adoption Talks Between Russia and America Still Going On…

While some agreement on conditions have been decided in the first three talks a fourth round of talks is being moved up to July instead of September.

This has been a long drawn out process because of trying to lay the ground work for future adoptions. Very few people have little knowledge that there was no controls for any child adopted by America. Russia has requested for years to have these controls enacted but America refused to listen until the escapade of an adopted boy who was sent back to Russia as defective merchandise. This promted Russia to freeze all adoptions by Americans and that freeze is still in effect until the new rules get installed by both parties…

A big issue right now is that America has no system in place to control what happens to the child between the state and federal level. So no one checks up properly after the adoption

Russian Child Ombudsman Pavel Astakhov has said, “…Such a complicated and delicate issue as adopting children and taking them abroad can’t be done without a proper legal base which a bilateral agreement should presuppose.”

I have followed this process from the beginning and have now come to the conclusion that Russia was correct and America has balked at regulations on adoption agencies with Russia. At first I thought why would they do that?

Bribe
Lots Of Money For Adopted Kids…

I now understand after a lot of studying that there was huge money involved in the transactions of American‘s adopting children from Russia.  All Americans hear about is the corruption in Russia. But I am here to tell you that every bribe and corrupt deal in Russia paid there was an equal and opposite transaction in America…

I call that a form of child trafficking. Both countries were into it very deep and Russia realized that it had to stop…

My question is why did America refuse to communicate about this before when asked by Russia?

Why did it take a national scandal by an American woman shipping her adopted Russian child back home to Russia, as a “psychopathic” piece of luggage?

Guess what? That woman will never get in trouble and that is a sad thing…
